I worked at Zynga full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

In aggressive turnaround focused on changing some core company practices that hindered growth and progress. Lots of opportunity to learn from extremely smart people while working on projects with strong technical strength.

    Cons

Almost complete lack of long-term vision. Perception from the inside is that this vision is in flux, and such job and project stability are thin at best. Also, personality-driven politics pervades the culture.

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent. Create a vision and execute on it.

I have been working at Zynga full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Food + Snacks + Dogs
Accessible to handy tools and hardware
Awesome on-site benefits in the SF location

    Cons

The work environment moral, and ethics aren't kept at all.
Performance feedback often unpredictable or they will use it against you in future. (Well at least from my experience.)

    Advice to Management

Please gain a better look at your people.

I worked at Zynga as an intern

    Pros

Great teams, awesome work-life balance, free food, dogs everywhere, fun environment, empowering for interns

    Cons

Work doesn't feel meaningful, little communication between teams, engineers opinions are disregarded

    Advice to Management

Make more room for innovation and new ideas. Zynga feels years behind the rest of the mobile game industry.

I have been working at Zynga full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, free food, onsite gym. Unlimited pto nice for some. Health insurance premium is free. Snacks and happy hours are nice.

    Cons

Benefits are about the only thing that’s keeping people around.

New Cstaff moving key people around without thinking through consequences. If you weren’t brought in by the new cstaff then there is a high likelihood that your future at the company is limited.

More experienced people were offered “packages” to leave so they can be replaced with less expensive heads. Certain cstaff often eliminate critical headcounts from parts of the company and build under his own orgs. This is creating lots of operational inefficiencies. Let’s not forget that a big reason why the SF office has inflated labor cost is due to ridiculously high cstaff pay packages relative to peers.

Sf office culture is getting worse. Looks like most positive reviews on Glassdoor came from interns

I worked at Zynga as an intern

    Pros

Awesome people, good work, learning new technologies, great environment

    Cons

Nothing about it was really that bad, you get what you expect out of it, and its an awesome time if you really like games.

I worked at Zynga full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good perks, flexible schedule, dogs in the office

    Cons

Unfortunately, Zynga is past its glory days and can't find its way back. Nothing really innovative happening, games are being shut down, leadership isn't transparent, and there is a lack of growth. So many changes over the last few years with nothing exciting on the horizon. While there are some amazing people who work here, a few duds snuck their way in and coast, providing no genuine value.

I worked at Zynga full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I no longer work there but my employment at Zynga has been the longest so far. This is a company that will challenge you non-stop but also rewards you for your hard work. They have a work hard-play hard attitude. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was free plus the millions snacks available on every floor of their building. I put on the famous "Zynga 15" (15 pounds of weight gain) from indulging in their delicious food. But don't be alarmed, they have a gym onsite with free boot-camp and kickboxing classes.

    Cons

Like everywhere, it might take some "butt-licking" in order to get promoted. They certainly took their sweet time to promote me after years of hard work and dedication but it happened eventually.

    Advice to Management

Formal verbal or written warning is advised

I have been working at Zynga as an intern

    Pros

    Great training.
    Challenging yet manageable volume work.
    Fun offsites and other events.
    Welcoming and friendly Culture.
    Strong Hackathon Focuses.
    Amazing perks!

    Cons

Three times upper level managers would act interested in side-projects I created for Zynga, asking to meet but would cancel the day of.
