Work schedule is not in consist like all retail jobs. Working a lot of weekends and holidays.

    Pros

Great culture of Fitness. Many people work out during the workday - take a lunch and are heading home by 5.

    Cons

Reebok is the ugly red headed step child in the Adidas family. Not sure about where the company is going.

I have been working at adidas Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A lot of opportunity to grow within the company, upper management and corporate supports ideas from everyone, and opportunities to travel for hard working team members. Able to create a great team and cultivate our own store environment

    Cons

Technology updates. A lot of changes happening with the POS system, they're working on integrating an "order from store" system (which is amazing) but in the meantime customers online returns kill our bottom line. IT department is truly no help.

    Advice to Management

When rolling out a new system - have it be 100% before putting it into stores. Don't let your field operations teams be your test dummies. Other than that - all upper management is amazing and supportive.

I have been working at adidas Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

People are great to work with
    No egos
    Relaxed atmosphere

    Cons

Right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing most times
Directive from HQ not always applicable in this market
    Lots of red tape/over-engineering

    Advice to Management

Simplify and untie your people's hands. Have a backbone and state your opinion. Manage (not baby-sit) your directs, which includes development.

I have been working at adidas Group (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A renewed focus on winning in the US market has meant real improvements and growth for the adidas brand and business in America.

The opportunities to work with people from all over the world, and to work in other countries is great.

One question is, how will things change as Kasper Rorsted makes his mark on the company?

    Cons

For some roles you have to work in another market/country or the global headquarters in Germany to advance your career.

  10. "A great brand with passion for sport"

    Star Star Star Star Star
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Mostly nice people, collegiate and friendly. Relatively relaxed. Open doors and less hierarchical. Great heritage, great footwear. More about team than singular individuals and their greatness.

    Cons

Not really decisive, too many layers, complicated and roles over dissected. Conventional, Silo thinking. Action-oriented sometimes but no consistent enough focus to make one initiative successful

    Advice to Management

Stop duplicating roles between sales and marketing. Create real accountabilities. Focus then really focus by shedding other stuff, and by making bold investments. Fix the basics, weed out non-performers and complacent senior managers. Ensure managers are evaluated by their employees. Chase what consumers are chasing. Respect diversity and equality in action

    Pros

Flexible schedule and nice discount. Coworkers were pleasant for the most part. Always willing to let me work during school breaks, etc.

    Cons

Would like more hours, but because of Obama could only get 30 maximum. Knew several people working another retail job also. No "break room" only a table in the back stock room, so no privacy from coworkers during breaks/lunch which was annoying at times. Employee turnover was rather high, some would only last a week or two and just stop showing up. Not the managers' faults in my opinion. No opportunity for promotion, never got a raise except when minimum wage increased.
