I worked at adidas Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits and you always get your 40 hours in if you are full time.

    Cons

Store manager was more of a friend then a leader. No strict behavior for accountability. No real leading influence. Men get paid more no matter how many years longer you have been there than them.

I worked at adidas Group part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great discounts, somewhat orderly management. Learned some great customer service skills while working here.

    Cons

Some unfriendly coworkers. Hours weren't that great. At times we were sent home after working an hour or two. Sometimes it was impossible to find items in the stock room because it's extremely messy.

    Advice to Management

The workers you hire are way too laid back.

I have been working at adidas Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

People are great to work with
    No egos
    Relaxed atmosphere

    Cons

Right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing most times
Directive from HQ not always applicable in this market
    Lots of red tape/over-engineering

    Advice to Management

Simplify and untie your people's hands. Have a backbone and state your opinion. Manage (not baby-sit) your directs, which includes development.

I have been working at adidas Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Many interesting projects to work on. Can gain lots of business and systems experience. Often have to work nights and weekends to keep up with the work demands. Not a lot of work/life balance depending on the projects you are working on.

    Cons

Many decisions driven out of Germany. Don't necessarily empower employees in the US or respect their opinion. Often solutions originating from Germany are complex and convoluted. Difficult to get any buy-in to use easier approaches. Believe this may be due to German cultural mindset.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your US employees and empower them to drive things the way they see fit for the US environment. What works in Germany doesn't necessarily work as well in the US.

I worked at adidas Group part-time

    Pros

Working at an adidas outlet was my first job and a great high school job for me. There were nice and understanding managers and fun co workers.

    Cons

The customers can be rude. You can never recover the merchandise in the store enough to keep up with the organizing that needs to be done. Customers can literally throw clothes all over the store.

    Advice to Management

The managers neglected to train me since it is such a simple job. Would have been more helpful to have more product knowledge in order to sell the clothes.
