I have been working at adidas full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great employees, employee discount is 30% in store and 50% online (but you have to order on a company computer). Culture is there

    Cons

District Managers are rarely around, the only feedback I ever received in three years with the company (unless I asked for feedback) was during my annual performance review. There is an overwhelming amount of corporate getaways as a store manager which are completely irrelevant to the business and waste company money, time, and take store managers out of their stores (ex: instead of talking about business district managers will take their store managers out to dinners and drink excessively, theme parks, etc, etc...) They essentially tell us at these "assimilation meetings" that we are supposed to talk business but who cares. On several occasions our DM would drink excessively and speak poorly of others, say extremely inappropriate things, and allow our peers to do the same. Human Resources is no help in these situations, in fact - When I did reach out to human resources about several occurrences I was almost reprimanded. Stretch assignments are given to store managers but it's so overwhelming It feels as if our DM/Director has delegated their entire workload to other store managers. We understand that delegation is a thing, but there is so much DM workload which is allocated to SM's in the field, you find DM's spending their entire life dedicated to work - This completely distinguishes any work/life balance.

    Advice to Management

Upper (Upper) Management (VP and up) need to monitor their directors and district managers more closely. There is no support in the field, due to the leniency our field directors give DM's and Store Managers, store managers will always have their DM's back when cornered and asked for DM feedback.

Management team was against each other and team members could get away with a lot of disrespect towards their managers.
