I have been working at arvato AG full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent salary, good hours, convenient location. Peers are helpful and encouraging. Holidays, health benefits, matching 401k & bonus. Off site opportunities

    Cons

Ambivalent upper management, little chance of moving up in company. Parent company in Germany can be ruthless about profit margins yet careless with corporate spending at the highest levels.

    Advice to Management

Better communication, more consistent review process, more support from middle management, see past short term gains, invest in continuing education

I worked at arvato AG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Soda machine in cafeteria and decent benefits (but you pay a lot for them)

    Cons

Negative work atmosphere, lots of management with zero team building skill. Impossible to advance unless you kiss the butt of a lower management and decide to get into 'the circle'. If accepted into the circle; advancement is possible and you really do not need reasoning skills or business experience, but the pay is still not in line with similar jobs. The culture is very cutthroat and anything said or done can and will be held against you. Arvato in Pleasant Prairie is a job, but not a career.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees market value for their work. teach your managers how to manage.

    Pros

Full Time Employees get a good benefit package. Supply catered meals at month end. Low stress and employee friendly dress code. Very good at adding experience to your skill set.

    Cons

Long hours due to month ends. Low pay for skill level needed. Hard to advance into staff positions. Most policies reduce the chance you would want to make it a place for a career.

    Advice to Management

Raise the pay scale to keep qualified people in house. The cost and expense of constant retraining new employees and temporary workers is not a long term solution to business success.

    Pros

Overtime and experience(you learn a 3 peoples job) to get better opportunity elsewhere.

    Cons

management is horrible, you have to be managers or supervisors "buddy" for you to get a promotion, no good relationships, they talk about temp workers like disposables and fired lot of arvato employees this year to get temps.
arvato employees haven't got a raise since 3 years ago. senior management are rude and don't bother to see the potential neither your resume even if you their job.

    Advice to Management

senior management are rude and don't bother to see the potential neither your resume even if you their job.
need to have committed people not temps. you treat them as temp they'll treat, they won't care about your product.

    Pros

    Pay can be decent
They are looking into expanding into new areas of business to offset their reduced replication business

    Cons

Managers are reluctant to give pay raises, and some are rude
The media replication industry is on its way out

    Advice to Management

Please learn how to treat your employees with respect. I can't work at a company where my manager disrespects their subordinates on a regular basis and irresponsibly handles projects. Hire the right people, pay them properly and treat them well and stop making cheap decisions, you're only ruining your competitive advantage by cutting corners

I worked at arvato AG as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Not a bad salary for that type of work

    Cons

Way too much drama and gossip in the company between and inside the management and call centers.
The favourite ones got promoted, and the ones who actually deserved to get the new positions and were recommended for them were let go.

I worked at arvato AG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The job itself was easy enough and decent paid for Romania. Base salary is low but lot of chance to double it with easy to reach bonuses such as getting positive surveys and placing orders for customers. No outbound calling or typical salesman stuff, just place the order if the customer doesn't want or if there's an issue.
Work conditions were ok, and colleagues were by and large great.

    Cons

Biggest issue is that it's hard to advance unless the team managers like you. I was at least 10 years older than many of them and with a family, so despite being top of the team for 11 months straight after I started on the project, kept getting passed over in favor of younger, more outgoing candidates for anything that was going. Sure I was making more than them since they don't get the bonuses, but it's not the point when you want to advance career wise. Eventually left when an agent that I consistently beat every month, sometimes doubling her results, got a coaching position ahead of me.
Team managers are short sighted and mediocre because of this kind of policy. Only occasionally you can find a decent one that works hard and looks after your interests.

    Advice to Management

Promote people that deserve it and look after them and maybe projects such as the recent Microsoft Surface Support won't collapse due to bad quality results. A lot of the management of that newer project came from precisely these unqualified, mediocre but popular agents with predictable results that others end up paying for with their jobs.
