    I worked at autoTRADER.ca full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Like any place, its the co-workers that you enjoy.
    - The environment is what you make of it...
    - Happy that I am no longer at this company

    Cons

    - Management has no strategy for where they want to go...and if they do, they don't communicate it to all the employees
    - Decisions can change day to day
    - Lack of Strategic Vision - again if its known, its known only by the upper crust who never distill this information down
    - Bullying is a tactic often used by some - not all managers
    - Democracy is non existent in this company - employee feedback will go on deaf ears
    - S/he that screams the loudest...gets what they want
    - I feel for any remaining employee that feels that Trader Corporation is all they have going for them
    - Benefits - can't be benefits when you have to pay for them

    Advice to Management

    - Don't be driven exclusively by money and how well your pockets will get lined.
    - Keep your resume current - you will need it once the company is sold later this year or next by Apax

I have been working at autoTRADER.ca full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Within less than 18 months i have already had 2 promotions and pay rises.

The Company Atmosphere is superb, with a great team of people, doing a great job.

    Free Parking.

I feel lucky that i work here. It is a place where if you work and you prove yourself, you are hugely rewarded. Anyone that claims differently i believe just didn't pull their weight or are just plain lazy.

We have lots of staff get together's both in the office (Thirsty Thursdays & Fridays) and at Wonderland and Old Mill. The company listen to us and act on our feedback. We're even introducing flexi-time, to give us longer summer weekends which is fantastic!

The dress code is relaxed too - meaning no out of date, old fashioned "Suit & Tie" "Trousers & Collared Shirts" etc etc.

We have TV's around our office, we have "lounges/Snugs" to get some chill time when we need it plus plenty of entertainment in our staff rooms.

Absolutely TOP NOTCH health, Dental & Drug coverage.

Everyone works together and the Team Spirit is just superb. I thank my lucky stars that i left my old industry for a complete change, and its the best decision i have ever made! Trader is an amazing company and i intend on spending the rest of my working days here.

    Cons

    Below Average Vacation Time.

Desolate area around the office for choice of places to eat or get refreshments.

    Advice to Management

Keep rewarding those of us who are hell bent on making a success story. Thank you you for the continued support and for giving us the drive to succeed and the training to get us there.

    Pros

When I first joined, the company and culture were fantastic. There was lots to be excited about. New products were being launched, there was definitely opportunities for growth, etc.

    Cons

Working in a company that was about to be sold was brutal. The executive team kept changing. They would bring in senior leadership that weren't necessarily the most qualified, but whom they had good relationships with. Staff turnover became increasingly high, and most were miserable in their jobs (at least in my department).

    Advice to Management

Remember, sales reps, managers, and sales support people are people. Not numbers.
