    Pros

Wonderful products with loyal following. Focus on excellence in everything they do. Progressive and encouraging environment. Flexible environment yet challenging and exciting in a good way!

    Cons

Parent company Shiseido relocated offices from SF to NYC, terminating my contract. No proper digital tools for project management. Everything was in spreadsheets or Filemaker.

    Advice to Management

Keep the Bare culture alive! I know change is gonna happen but BE had something very special in SF.

I worked at bareMinerals part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

the 50% discount and the decent compensation

    Cons

the management system, high turnover rate, bullying from management staff.

    Advice to Management

Working as a beauty ambassador at Bare Minerals is probably the worst experience. The turnover rate is very high, specifically at the Walnut Creek location because the store managers provide a belittling, degrading, toxic, high school-mean-girls environment. You would think that by now after having to rehire and ENTIRE new team every couple of months they would learn how to be kind human beings who support their team rather than making the work environment hostile, competitive and unsupportive. Also, many of these good reviews here on glass door are fake & created by the store managers. 10/10 would NOT recommend wasting your time applying. You will be treated poorly and leave very quickly.

I have been working at bareMinerals full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good salary, great team environment with lots of dedication, and great product. Good marketing message to consumers that empowers women.

    Cons

Entire restructuring of company and teams so many jobs lost and they're not done. This company is not making money anymore so completely new upper management team in charge is trying to save it. Very stressed employees with tripled workload makes it hard to truly connect with those who love the brand, the consumers. Very big disconnect between corporate office and field team and will probably get worse as SF fully moves to NYC. Large launches are not done properly or effectively. Truly no more room to grow here anymore which is sad.

    Advice to Management

Decreasing your salaried field team and putting contract workers out there very well could be too late to help. Why did no one listen when the competition ate all of the business??? Now you have stressed employees constantly on edge and those suffering with job losses. Stop the suffering and keep your field team that was invested in you.

    Pros

Fun and creative job. You get to meet a lot of really amazing people.

    Cons

Tech was completely outdated and constantly having issues.

    Advice to Management

Listen to all sides of a problem before accusing one person of saying something when you didn't hear it yourself. Some employees are just out get other employees fired and this is easy to tell if they have a habit of gossiping and causing drama for someone other than themselves.
