I worked at dressbarn part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The brand really inspires their employees to do their best and work as a team. The store I worked in really focused on employee development. There were many things I learned that I was able to use outside of work. The managers were great, they really care about you as a person and they are not intimating at all. They want us to feel included, they do this by encouraging us to ask questions and ask us our opinions on things.
The brand really focuses on customer experience too so you really get to know the customers when you work here, and really make someones day.

    Cons

You can definitely tell how the atmosphere has changed over time. When I started it was all about inspiring women, but with the new CEO it seems like all its about now is numbers, numbers, numbers. Now it just seems like dressbarn is like any other retail company. It was nice when dressbarn was doing something different.

    Advice to Management

Keep inspiring your team, but don't over work them.

    Pros

Company atmosphere is very friendly, managers and other associates are very nice to work with and the customers are usually great

    Cons

Don't give out many hours at all, especially in the summer months

    Advice to Management

Hire less people and give the ones you already have more hours. Don't skimp on giving hours just because you have to give them benefits. It will make your employees stay for a long time!
