I worked at dressbarn full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This is a solid company that offers their employees great benefits and is really a pleasure to work for. They seem to care about the staff a lot. Great training program

    Cons

Retail can be a very trying career. Dealing with a young staff means wwe had to over hire in order to cover all the request offs.

    Advice to Management

Pay the store associates more money. This would give the leaders a better chance of retaining their staff.

    Pros

Dressbarn has a great management staff. They're so caring and thoughtful. If you do your job, then you'll do great here!

    Cons

Not everyone who works there is going to be considerate of your work life balance. It may seem like you're the only one covering everyone's shifts.

I have been working at dressbarn part-time

    Pros

Being part-time one has very few benefits, on some holiday's if worked you will earn time & a half. After 1 year or 1,000 hours worked you qualify for 401K with company match up to 5% on each deferred salary and roth account. A great discount at store all the time with extra percentage a few times a year(Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter) as well as other Ascena brands such as Ann Taylor, Loft, Catherine's, Lane Bryant, Justice, Maurice's, & Lou Grey. In Management if stores plans are met then bonuses are earned. One has opportunities to use other discounts at some other retailers such as mobile plan discounts, flowers, and gym memberships. In past years there have been birthday coupons give to associate ($10 off) and Christmas/holiday gift cards ($10-20). Team is like family and always willing to work around other schedules such as other jobs and or school.

    Cons

Not a lot of promoting done once a management team is in place they don't leave. Pay is low. Hours stores are suppose to operate on are minimal.

    Advice to Management

Address issues quickly so behavior are nipped in the bud before they get out of hand.
