    Pros

Awesome sales staff and informs you of sales goals and how to keep up with inventory well. I was excited to learn about the new seasonal clothes and they have really good employee discounts on clothes!

    Cons

Have to have patience with this job when it comes to the people who you are selling to. Sometimes people need help with what they are wearing and you have to understand that.

    Advice to Management

    You guys are doing great!

I worked at dressbarn full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Very nice facility.
They have gym. No time to work out.

    Cons

Dress Barn could make you relocate on your own expense, but let you go in a year. You could really loose money instead of gaining it. If you face something like this - just run. Many people suffer from it. Don't accept any offers if its your case. What ever a good comments on Dress Barn as a company you see here - might coming from HR.

    Advice to Management

HR created reports system as a spy affect, which increased lots of conflicts between teams and every single employe. Nobody cares about product anymore, but reports. As well as so many gussets going on now. The worst atmosphere I ever seen in my whole currier experience.
Business decisions going back and forst without any successful results, hopeless.

I have been working at dressbarn part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

40% off discount on all clothes

    Cons

I had a horrible store manager with a terrible attitude that did everything in her power to keep me from advancing, even though I had 6 years of retail and customer service experience and a degree in business. I never had any complaints from anyone of higher authority or customers, and was often praised for my work ethic. She, herself could never find anything negative to say about me, but would often pass me up for opportunities and hire new associates without any retail experience and train them to be managers within two months before considering me. Even though other managers would constantly suggest that I interview for more advanced roles and even tell me about openings at other stores, My store manager did everything to block my chances. My boss also had a habit of giving extremly low hours and making certain individuals work every consecutive weekend including other managers while her excuse was that she "didnt do weekends" and needed to be home. She would refuse to come in when others called out and would make managers work double shift, even if they had already work 5 days straight prior. There was also alot of favortism and collusion between managers. She would allow certain managers to consistantly show up late or call off, which forced associates to stay later. She would also send very rude and harsh messages to employees on a constant bases. Her behavior and the way she talked to people caused many great employees to leave or even refuse to work with her to upper management which is very sad to see . After dealing with her for almost a year and never seeing any real chance of promotion, I left myself.

    Advice to Management

One bad apple can ruin th bunch.
