I worked at dressbarn full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good benefits (health, dental).
Average pay rate for a new hire manager.

    Cons

Serious lack of payroll hours. Demands a huge workload with limited resources and employees.

    Advice to Management

District & Regional Management need to allocate more support in terms of payroll and manpower with a realistic expectation for completing workload. Upper-field management forgets the logistics and reality of working on a store level.

    I worked at dressbarn part-time

    Pros

After the experience of working with one of the worst store leaders, I have no good feedback.

    Cons

Terrible management that lets power go to their head!! The management is very lazy and expects you to do their job plus yours. Everyone (as with every retail job) is very two-faced and will undercut you any chance they get. It seems that no matter how hard you work here the management will still make you feel like crap. I experienced verbal and emotional abuse daily and it wasn't worth the pay/time. There's huge turnover when working here and this is why!

    Advice to Management

Do your job and don't expect everyone else to do it for you! Don't make your employees feel like crap constantly and they won't all quit.

I worked at dressbarn part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If it is your first job in retail Dressbarn is a great place to learn fantastic customer service. They expect you to give every customer a unique and fun experience. They train you fully for it. Great employee discount.

    Cons

Dressbarn expects you to wear in season clothing that reflects what they are currently selling but don't compensate enough for you to keep up . Full outfits, hair and make up are expected everyday.

    Advice to Management

It varies from store to store but employees are under a lot of pressure to sell. There is no feeling of appreciation for hard work.

I have been working at dressbarn full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Onsite cafe, with healthy food options at a reasonable cost.

Onsite gym, you can work out , take classes whenever you want for free.

    Cons

    Where do I begin.
This is organization is dying. Constant layoffs. The organization isn't making profit. Stocks keep falling everyday. It will become a penny stock soon.
All the higher ups do are lie to convince the employees that are (mostly lifers due to poor skill set, due to the lack of company evolution). Also, they believe in promoting from within or encouraging employees to apply for roles within the company. That's actually looked down upon. Every employee who made an attempt to move into another department, has never had it happen. There are people who have been in the same roles for over 20 years and its ok. No advancement, just a pathetic 3% raise every year.
That's right! 3% raise. They are all underpaid, and the company can careless.

It has become a very cut throat place to work. People are scared because of the direction that the company is going in so they will throw anyone under the bus to make themselves look good.

It's a snake pit. They have small rounds of layoffs and they are very careful how they do it so that they don't have to report it to the news. This place isn't stable at all. The news articles are not fake. They are very much real, about the poor performance and downward spiral this place is taking.

Run, don't do this to yourself. If you do, you will be looking for a job again within a couple of months.

    Advice to Management

Stop lying, people are not as dumb as you think. Your $1.55 stocks are not fake news.
