I have been working at eBay (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Excellent time being my own personal boss.

    Cons

Only thing I don't have one hundred percent control over is shipping.

    Advice to Management

Keep up with the wonderful updates

I worked at eBay (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great job, great travel and compensation.

    Cons

Poor management decisions at eBay. It seems every two years a new director comes in from another .com and cleans house. The changes never take and it's back to business as usual for those who survive.

    Advice to Management

Trust your team and your employees.

I have been working at eBay part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The amount of time I give to selling is up to me. I "meet" many people from a large geographic area.

    Cons

Takes a lot of time preparing items to sell, taking and editing good pictures, posting accurate descriptions.

    Advice to Management

Support the "Mom and Pop" sellers more. Change some policies that support sellers (i.e. Feedback rules)

I worked at eBay full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay and benefits including stock options. Some very good sales people.. The office is very laid back almost too much.

    Cons

Management is a complete train wreck with zero to no communication. They have no path or direction and will just throw a number out in the middle of the month that they need you to hit...

I have been working at eBay (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I enjoy working online and on my computer in online sales because unlike a conventional job I am highly motivated by my work to get a sale and not so much as to the time it takes me to reach my goals. I have sold products for other companies as well, and have been asked by their marketing company my secrets to successful selling as well. E bay also has taught me how to cater to high quality customer service as well or I would not be in business!

    Cons

E bay caters to the seller and unfortunately to the buyer especially a brand new member who is able to give you a negative feed back score as a seller, which the majority of the time they really don't know how it works. It is also very difficult to compete with the big box store and charity sellers!

    Pros

Offers flexibility. But when listing products you are all alone which I don't think is healthy. Overall once you pay eBay fees and also PayPal fees there is limited money left

    Cons

After fees not that much left's it's expensive to procure products, takes time and then to store them

    Advice to Management

    Don't take so many fees

    Pros

Great company. Really enjoy working with them. Great pay. Challenging work but very fun. I would definitely recommend applied get here.

    Cons

Ebay is a very massive company. Lots of people going every which way. Challenging work and a lot is expected out of you. Always finish your work.

    Advice to Management

Keep a strong eye on everyone. Keep an open mind and always remember mistakes can be made. No one is perfect but overall great company

    Pros

Good money, be your own boss.

    Cons

If you don't keep selling, your selling rights can be taken away.

I have been working at eBay (More than a year)

    Pros

    Make your own work hours

Work anywhere that has a computer and internet

Does not take a long time or skill to do

    Cons

Have to keep checking to see if anything has sold

Figuring out how to ship things safely

    Some months nothing is sold

    Unstable income

    Advice to Management

Its a great way to make a little extra cash but nothing to live on. Sometimes you put more time in then you get out for your efforts.
