I worked at eBioscience as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked at eBio prior to the acquisition of Affymetix as an intern for the Corporate Development team. It was a great place to learn and gain a foundation in a business atmosphere as well as learn the basics of the BioTech industry

    Cons

Once Affy acquired eBio people started freaking out about their own job and I had nothing to do....I basically got paid to sit there all day so I got bored and quit.

    Advice to Management

Take care of you interns because one day they could work for your former CEO

I have been working at eBioscience full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very open to cross-training in rather disparate fields
Other than one person EVERY one has been incredibly friendly and kind
Fun stuff like the annual beer brewing competition, yearly group team building (usually a fun outing like fishing, going to the races, go karting, etc.)

    Cons

Salaries are a bit below market average
Very difficult to move up in pay scale and or position.

    Advice to Management

Being a bit more clear, not cutting benefits every chance you can. When I started here, it was actually a very pleasant company to work for. While profitable non-stop it still seemed like benefits were cut here and there. Monthly lunches became every other month and are now every quarter.

I have been working at eBioscience full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

eBioscience is a good company. The leaders are strong, and are very helpful. The company has gone through some changes, and through these changes the company is on the rise.

    Cons

No real issues to report. As part of a larger company, there are always issues that come up and that are out of anyone's control, also being part of a larger company, it is hard to feel connected. The small company feel has faded.

    Advice to Management

Continue to listen to the employees. The Focus Groups are a great idea, it allows employees to voice their opinions and concerns with the company. Great Job!
