    Pros

    - Talented individual contributors
    - Weekly lunch
    - free snacks and soft drinks
I worked for 2 years before I decided to move on . Over all I liked my colleagues and other team members .

    Cons

Bad management and recent clean up of higher management only made it worse . They need a whole new management to clean up the whole mess . Building new UI won't get any new customers . There's a need for changing the business needs to address 2016 dating problems . None of the top leaders seems to understand that. Technology is ancient and with no vision and leadership ,Eharmony is ready for the sinking very soon

    Advice to Management

Fire all managers or directors in the technology group and hire some best in the business .Most of these managers has been staying for ever ,with zero or little contributions to make Eharmony better . Introduce a 360 degree feedback and make manager earn their rating performance by working for the team like in many other product company . That will clean up some of them

I have been working at eHarmony full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

free food - unhealthy and really fattening but free and lots of it. good work life balance.

    Cons

Management is really unqualified and completely out of touch. So backwards and not innovative at all. Management is a great place to be at eHarmony if you are mediocre and was to find your forever home. You can do a bad job and stay there forever if you are in management.

    Advice to Management

Have employees do an annual review of you and be held to some type of performance standard. Managers review employees annually but the managers never get feedback from the people who report to them. Many times the people the managers report to have no idea how the manager is actually performing.

Thanks for the feedback. In the next few weeks an organizational survey will be sent to each employee. You will be given every opportunity to share your thoughts about your supervisor, your group ... More

    Pros

Competitive salaries, location in Westwood is great, small company with a big company impact, nice perks

    Cons

Senior leadership is all pretty solid...except for the CTO. He loves to drop names of people he's never really met and frequently makes up "facts" to fit his agenda. There's a reason top talent is leaving the company and it has a first and last name.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the employee feedback and surveys.

    Pros

great work/life ratio. benefits were outstanding. was able to get into different positions outside of customer service. ultimately, human resources treated me nice when i was laid off. i am grateful for that.

    Cons

poor middle management. thought highly of themselves while pushing insane rules that did nothing to push company's bottom line along. ultimately the biggest con is the product itself which will no doubt cause a death spiral. with move to new ceo i shudder to think what lies ahead for those who remain. folks, you can not keep auto renewing the consumer while thinking your bottom line will not be affected. you must deliver on your promise of product or get out of business. i am happy that this company is long in my rear view mirror.

    Advice to Management

get over yourselves. outside of those corporate walls, you are nothing, just another human being. quit hiring middle management based on popularity. higher more based on skill.

I have been working at eHarmony full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Happy with salary and benefits. They subsidize a gym membership and cater lunch every Wednesday. Most of the employees are fine to work with though there are some difficult people. Aside from working with good colleagues, I've also made good friends. The company has a noble cause of helping single men and women find their ideal significant other.

    Cons

Meetings feel too abundant. Certain groups of people do seem clique. With the recent departure of the last two C-level executives and the promotion of two new ones, maybe there is a glimmer of hope for the company. The CSO, who has been with the company for years wearing other titles, should be removed as well. I'm not convinced the new C-level executives really know anything about running a company. It surprises me eHarmony has been up and around this long. The new CPO does seem to be more realistic about the current trajectory of the company so maybe he can turn it all around.

    Cons

they are not innovative at all. the way they do things is really antiquated. they have sub standard managers. no opportunity for career growth. poor performers can hang out forever at eHarmony especially if they are in a management position.

I worked at eHarmony (More than a year)

    Pros

As nearly every others pointed out: free Wednesday lunch, lots of snacks, coffee machine etc. all pretty standard perks for west side tech companies

    Cons

Technology stuck in Stone Age. Bau (business as usual) always used as excuses to not advance. Infrastructure very old and outdated; ops scrambling to swap ancient servers; strong resistance to modernize; fake press releases about technology advancements which never happened; bad reputations in tech circles causing talents not willing to join

    Advice to Management

Do real innovation, not just faking up interview stories, daring to reinvent yourself. Otherwise, this is a sinking ship.

    Pros

eHarmony has good policies on work life balance.
Executives did a good job of maintaining focus.
Many people at eHarmony were smart and dedicated.

    Cons

I learned a lot during my short stint with eHarmony/elevated, but the biggest problem I observed was narcissism from management . There were plenty of evidence:
    - Pretentious show of authority by interrupting and speaking over others.
    - Freely label others to give self image of superiority
    - Trivialize others' efforts and exaggerate own's contributions.
    - Deflect blames
    - Personal attacks in the form of innuendos, smearing, and slandering.

This in turns, cultivated distrusts and hurt team morale.

    Advice to Management

Don't let narcissists turn the organization into a mini-Enron.

I have been working at eHarmony full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits (catered lunch once a week, several possibilities for gym memberships, good medical/dental)
HR is accessible and available w/answers to your questions
Good culture - coworkers are friendly and knowledgeable. You're not afraid to ask a question. Atmosphere is mostly relaxed
Nice new digs... But I'm not a fan of Westwood
    Work/Life Balance is awesome

    Cons

Management is always tied up in meetings. Too many meetings.
Not as transparent as it used to be. Would be nice to see who's working on what
Not that easy to be promoted in the current department I work. Would be nice to be able to crossover and work in other departments to learn more and help my own job.

    Advice to Management

Have more 'just the headlines' meetings and have departments present what they're working on.
Have less meetings. Involve more of your lower rung employees to give them access to promotion opportunities. Have managers plan out roadmaps w/each employee.
