I have been working at eHealth full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very impressive training; All in-bound phone calls; working with senior market, which is growing robustly now and in the long-term future; base pay with commissions

    Cons

commission structure in low with no chance for renewals; most phone calls taken during during non- Annual Enrollment Period are not viable sales opportunities; every minute of your work day (outside of 30 minute lunch & two 15 minute breaks) is monitored

    Advice to Management

The axiom embraced by eHealth is "More Service....More Sales" does not align with managements push to maximize efficiency on the phone in order to minimize the time spent enrolling a senior citizen into a plan in order to move on to the next sale. The process of fully identifying a senior's needs and finding the appropriate plan to suit his/her needs takes more time than management wants the sales consultant to take.

    Pros

Clear direction of goals, where company is going, and tasks to get there. Good benefits including increasing paid time off for years of commitment.

    Cons

No real "coaching" to better career. Giving employees stock does not benefit them as much as it does upper management. Cash bonuses are always more appreciated.

    Advice to Management

Design a "career path" progression with your employees. Set goals with time frames and review when they arrive. Don't make promises or even suggestions that aren't kept.

    Pros

Great benefits and good people to work with

    Cons

A lot of seasonal and downsizing so job security is iffy.

    Advice to Management

Help your employees to feel more secure with the security and longevity of eHealth.

    Pros

    Close to home. Good benefits.

    Cons

Inconsistent training, supervisor backup. Deceptive compensation...changes constantly. Many agents were cheated out of compensation. Many valuable agents left.

    Advice to Management

To upper management - stop cheating the agents. They are what have made you successful

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Good benefits, smart and respectful employees. However, Leadership is extremely divided from the employees who are doing all the work.

    Cons

The culture could use improvement. A lot of employees are there for a job, not a career. If you are looking for a clock in and out, secure stable job... this is the job for you.

    Advice to Management

Get more involved in your employees work.

    Pros

Good managers, good 6 week training program to get you familiarized with the company and process they have. Very good, corporate atmosphere, complete with free food and coffee on a regular basis. Good trainsers.

    Cons

Call center. Call after, call after, after call, after call. You get the point. I don't think call center jobs are for me.
