I worked at easyJet full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

New Aircraft and vast Network. Fast Command and competitive Salary with the opportunity to be based in any of the bases on the continent based on time served. Excellent training.

    Cons

Very long hours, Disruptive schedule, lack of flexibility. Not a career airline. Many unhappy pilots. Part-Time very hard to get. Management constantly at loggerheads with pilots union.

    Advice to Management

Listen to Staff, and actually do something rather than pay lip service to everything.

    Pros

I am a Captain with easyJet based in Gatwick and have worked for easyJet for the past 14 years. I can honestly say that I love it! EasyJet is a great airline. We operate as " One Big Team". The flying is diverse, sometimes challenging but always rewarding

    Cons

    Pros

    Good pay

    Nice aircraft (very new)

    Wide variety of routes

Most other crew are decent, hard working people

    Cons

I worked almost 10 years as a pilot at this company.

As with all big organisations, you are just a number.

Crewing are not honest with crew and take advantage of those who are new or don't yet have a permanent contract.

Lots of buzz words and "thank you emails" which are totally insincere. Disruption is a part of airline life but having the right headcount makes a huge difference. > £500m profit should make having the right headcount possible.

Tick in a box mentality to staff welfare and roster fatigue management.

Quality of training highly varied and depends who you get on the day.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of bonus culture which encourages staff to work against each other if there's a bonus in it for them.

Empower management to actually have real authority and decision making powers - currently managers are there to enforce policy not to listen to staff and reflect upwards.

I have been working at easyJet full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Is thrilling to be part of a new way of traveling trough air.
Fellow crew are in the same boat and usually form a great team.

    Cons

Management at the top knows about making money (ex Ryanair amongst them) but has no clue how to manage management lower down is either incapable or has no mandate to correct what is wrong. Moral is low. The drive to earn money at the cost of people is appalling. No or little support when you need some.
T&C are in an ever downward spiral (pilots now earn 30% less than when Easyjet started hiring pilots and work even more and longer day’s).

    Advice to Management

It is a company with potential. The idea the Stellios had is a good and works for other airlines like Virgin and Southwest. The devil is in the detail. These company’s put their people and safety first not money. If the management manages to get that electric buzz back and make people the centre of the airline again it might be a winner.

I have been working at easyJet full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

They pay me at the end of the month, the job is a little more secure than other airlines. Thank the union for that though....

    Cons

A lot of love here for Carolyn, I think it's a case of right place, right time for her, and she is well rewarded for it. The staff though are generally treated as school children and an inconvenience by middle management and the orange propaganda machine. There is a lot of spouting of values, integrity etc, employee surveys, however what they say and they do is a different matter.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the employees a little bit more and the share price a little less..... I know keep dreaming. The focus for EasyJet is profit and share price above everything.

I have been working at easyJet full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Decent remuneration, mostly pleasant workmates.

    Cons

Appalling management style (especially lower and middle management), tiring work schedule, little to no development/career possibilities.

    Advice to Management

Seriously take a page (or a few) out of Southwest's book instead of just copy-pasting whatever seems convenient.
