I have been working at eviCore healthcare full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    No weekends or major holidays.

    Cons

Numerous cons. They are all fixable. Listen to your employees!!!! Paying reviewers by the hour rather than the prior per case was a big mistake. The high performers are losing $800 to $1200 per month on average. The $1000 incentive bonus (if you get it) does not make up for that.

    Advice to Management

Please make sure that the employees promoted to supervisor positions have ALL of the skills required. People skills and interpersonal communication skills are a MUST. Upper management, PLEASE select supervisors and take into account the educational background of the potential supervisor during the selection period/interview. A great clinical reviewer just might NOT have the skills to make a good supervisor. LPN;s, although an excellent asset, do not always have the management education or management skills to be competent at the job. EviCore has lost a high number of good people due to supervisor issues. There is a trend on some teams which is so blatant that it makes one wonder how upper management misses this. Yes, there are good and bad with EVERY job, however, to place blame on employees and keep the attitude that the supervisors will be upheld in every decision is not the correct way to manage. Everyone is human and that includes supervisors and managers. Micro-managing is wrong. If you have employees that NEED micro-managing, after a trial period, replace them. There are usually some who cannot work in the home environment and need to be micro-managed, This job is not for them. Overall, this is not a bad job. If those in supervisory and management positions will practice integrity, good character, and honesty, issues could be resolved much more quickly. Advice to upper management: Send each reviewer/team member an anonymous evaluation of the reviewer's supervisor every three months. Track those evaluations to see if a trend is seen. eviCore spends a good amount of money to hire and train new nurses. It is a shame to see them leave within the first year when a little more assistance or another supervisor could have developed the reviewer into a great employee. It appears that management (not supervisors) take the attitude that (the reviewer was a bad fit for the job). Suggestion: Save the company 25K to 30K. You could select a 3-5 member team to JUST review the evaluations and assist with problem solving issues between reviewers and supervisors. The reason that I am still at the company is that I believe we are a major important part of the process for our patients and that I believe our company can be a wonderful place to work with a few tweaks to the management system. Lose the "if it's not broken, don't fix it" because it IS broken and it is costing money.

I have been working at eviCore healthcare full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Work from home, various shifts available, multiple department jobs available from time to time, off on all holidays and weekends unless you volunteer to work those days, overtime always available.

    Cons

Health insurance is high deductible, sometimes feel micromanaged, can get stressful calls. Calls all day with no break time in between.

    Advice to Management

Hire supervisors that have worked for at least three years in a clinical reviewer position before hiring to management.
