    I worked at francesca's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved the location that I worked in. Especially since it was a brand new concept! It was very easy to manage such a small team and I had a good DTL. As a company it is still evolving and making changes that helps the team growth. As a company they did not open on Thanksgiving so I felt they valued us as employees. When the DTL came in it was always a learning experience because standards were constantly changing. I miss it!

    Cons

The turn over was very high due to the pay and we hired minors. If a member of management didn’t show up you often had to work a double or pray someone from another store would come and help out. This was the first retailer that I worked for where the interview process was so lengthy due to waiting on second interviews from DTL. There was a lot of back and forth with boutique ops which sometimes resulted in double work. But overall I liked working for the company.

    Advice to Management

Pay stylist more and give them the same discount as boutique leaders since they make less. Please do away with hiring minors it felt like that had a lot to do with call outs. Stylist candidates should not be required to have second interviews from DTL it just made the process longer than it should be.

    Pros

    -Discount
    That’s the only pro

    Cons

Working for this company was terrible. When you get hired they give you a script of how you should talk to people. They tell you what to say how to say and in what order. If your someone who doesn’t like to be in peoples faces selling this job is not for you. I felt very micromanaged. I love helping people but this company is just unrealistic with its expectations. I would be talking to a guest and helping them and my manger would come up and say three people walked in you need to go talk to them. Some people don’t want to be helped and they would get frustrated and tell me to leave them alone or leave. I think that creates a terrible shopping experience. I can’t completely agree that customer service is important but not to the extent where people are getting angry because you won’t leave them alone. Another downside was the expections for ADS and UPT. If I was by myself I would pray I wouldn’t have one item transactions or returns because when the next manger would come in they would look at my numbers and be like what happened? Why didn’t you make this hour ? Why did you have a return ? Why didn’t you do an exchange ? It was physically and mentally exhausting I don’t reccomed working for this company to anyone. Think of this job as being a car salesmen you don’t take no for an answer

    Advice to Management

The district manger was also another reason I wanted to leave she was just a lot to deal with. She overworked her employees and there was no excuse for not making sales. If you don’t make sales you don’t get scheduled to work. Which I had bills to pay that kind of schedule didn’t work for me. Sometimes it would just be really slow and I wouldn’t make sales so I didn’t get hours it was very frustrating. I felt so fake when I talked to people because I had to use the script the gave us. If people weren’t buying the district manager would blame our displays and say there not good enough etc.
