Management sometimes go to micro management if you get the "right" manager.
    Salary not competitive.
    There are company political stuff.
Projects are not enough for every employee

I have been working at hybris Software full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great atmosphere and the technical people know what they are doing. Good employment opportunities after leaving it (hybris developers are searched for by other companies). Flexible working hours, personal budget for conferences and other learning materials. Great place to work.

    Cons

Bad place to develop your career. Incompetent management (not the senior one, the one who is facing the actual "workers"). No interest in the employee career development. Almost no salary increases over years, regardless of performance (I know it from other people too). Yearly performance reviews done in a superficial way, which are more oriented at justifying current salary using random statements rather than giving real feedback about areas to improve. The managers have no clue about the work the people they manage are doing. No one knows what are the actual responsibilities of those managers, including themselves.

All that is dissapointing hearing year by year how great success the company has made, and receiving job offers for hybris developers with much better conditions.

I would recomment this company a lot if you can negotiate the salary you would like to earn when you are about to leave it - as it will most likely not change. Or if you are one of those people who do not care about the salary.

    Pros

Company in general treated employers well.
Seemed to be a case of who you know to move up the company. Which isn't such a bad thing as company would rather recruit inhouse than outside.

    Cons

Management there are good and bad - if you're unlucky you'd work for bad managers who don't care for their employees. More focused on their own goals.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your resources who'd take care of your customers. Workplace shouldn't be such a militarily engagement!

I have been working at hybris Software full-time

    Pros

    - Awesome benefits after SAP integration. Among them, 4 week vacation after 3 years, and 5 week vacation after 5 years.
    - Really nice office, brand new in Montreal finished in 2015
    - Very good location
    - Opportunities for traveling
    - You learn a lot if you can find the professional who are really good inside (currently not majority)
    - They let you work from home when needed

    Cons

    - a lot of politics drive decisions, not necessarily what adds value to the customer
    - delivery and R&D departments do not talk to each other. Internal communication in general is very poor and disorganized.
    - a lot of weak professionals that stay for political reasons
    - Unpaid overtime

I worked at hybris Software (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great place to work if you are an IT professional, actively involved in product development or marketing. Lots of opportunity and great salaries and benefits.

    Cons

With its complete integration into SAP, a lot of bureaucratic complexity to accomplish things in a decent time framework. Just too big an organization!

    Pros

    Good people to work with.
Well intentioned management - many current problems will likely be resolved over time.
Interesting industry and an opportunity to learn about it.
The company will probably do well over the next few years.

    Cons

    Massive amounts of unrecognized overtime.
Some teams get credit others do not.
New management does not know who occupies what roles.
Communication between top management and the next level is minimal (though general communication to the whole company is good).

    Advice to Management

Reach out to long time employees and ask for feedback on their teams, their clients and their challenges. These people can help you recover from missteps.
