    Pros

    Benefits

    Bonus each year
Co-workers were great to work with

    Cons

Not much room for growth in some departments as most people tend to stay there for a long period of time

I worked at iA Financial Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy-going atmosphere, but that's about it. There is a pretty nice break room and conference areas, and the office equipment wasn't too old. People usually don't stay late, and if you have a job where you need to work after-hours, the office gives you a laptop. Flexible schedules depending on position.

    Cons

Unfriendly co-workers, no office events/parties, and very little communication from management to employees. Half the office was laid off without much warning, and the rest of the company is going downhill as it "streamlines" its operations.

I have been working at iA Financial Group full-time

    Pros

    flexibility
    helpful staff
You are a business owner (but don't approach the financial advisory jobs if you don't have a big network)

    Cons

Not many people outside Quebec know it, although it's among the top 5 insurance companies in Canada

I worked at iA Financial Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

RRSP benefits, office location, profit share.

    Cons

Financial management not interested in software development other than the results they need to get: don't want to sow the seeds, only reap the benefits.

I worked at iA Financial Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

7 hour work days, forward thinking management, project work is challenging but rewarding, the company invests in your personal and professional development providing seminars and training sessions during work hours. Great and involved charitable initiatives and fundraising opportunities.

    Cons

Very disorganized and frightening business practices witnessed during my time. Excessive overtime, poor work/life balance. Worked too many weekends for a M-F job. Salary was so low I felt like I was being taken advantage of with the workload and responsibilities.

I worked at iA Financial Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work from home, fantastic team, profit sharing and reasonable salaries.

    Cons

Intensive travel requirements (could be a Pro depending on the candidate).

    Advice to Management

Must find a way to introduce succession planning for Financial Advisors nearing retirement. Most have no plans and it represents a huge risk to the firm in future.
