I worked at iCrossing as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Beautiful offices, great cafeteria, very friendly people, the job paid well.

    Cons

Unexpected amounts of disorganization in projects, due to a small but effective percentage of completely disorganized project managers easily rattled by insane clients.

    Advice to Management

You'll retain talented tech employees if you provide better support.

I have been working at iCrossing full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There's a lot of work to be done, new business opportunities are always coming in and managers are very supportive of junior staff.

They're in a transitional period so while there are growing pains, there are more opportunities to collaborate across functions.

Working as part of Hearst serves as exciting partnership opportunities.

    Cons

With very traditional advertisers in senior roles, it' very difficult to adapt to a changing media landscape and truly become a modern digital agency. There needs to be more receptivity in leadership to newer strategies and techniques of communication and marketing otherwise we won't be able to compete with other agencies.

    High turnover rate, low morale.

    Advice to Management

Projects are scoped incorrectly and understaffed.

I have been working at iCrossing full-time

    Pros

Good people. New management has been doing a better job on financial terms compared to their predecessors.

    Cons

Certain parts of the organization are still silo'ed. After several years, the team that I am on is still facing identity-crisis.

    Advice to Management

However possible, invest real money on the technology that will help drive key results - even if it means lesser short-term margins.

    I worked at iCrossing full-time

    Pros

    Great people. Great facilities.

    Cons

Poor leadership. No culture. Mediocre pay.

    Advice to Management

Hire smarter people in leadership roles. Pay better. Have a clear mission rather than the cliché you had "connecting people through moments" blah blah blah.

    Pros

The Hearst building is a wonderful place to work and the views are incredible.

    Cons

Work is very siloed and collaboration doesn't seem valued for lower level employees.

I worked at iCrossing full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If this is your first agency, I highly recommend it. Good training, the low-level managers are all people who massively care - and you will develop. The new CEO in UK I respect a lot, and I think will start performing really well - further down the road.

    Cons

The culture has changed drastically with the break up of the agency into 3 smaller bits. What was touted to be a good thing and help, actually has made things worse for most staff. A lot of the management changed over the past 6-8 months... however what remains is the ineffectual political middle management - who serve very little purpose, but somehow manage to cheat the hangman.

    Advice to Management

Realise you are empowering the wrong people to do the wrong tasks. Someone who has been with the business for 8 years and isn't performing is coasting. Oust them and allow someone with hunger and drive to push things forwards.

I worked at iCrossing full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible work environment, that was very accommodating to my life and family. Relaxed atmosphere, and very nice people

    Cons

I was so bored I didn't know what to do with myself. I would usually finish my day's work within about 30 minutes. I would ask around, but everyone seemed content to work on their own stuff and never really needed help. I never once met my boss, and getting ahold of him to request more work was difficult

    Advice to Management

    pay attention to your employees
