The place to be in an ever changing industry.
Dec 11, 2015 - Director in Somerset, NJRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I've been an inventive employee for 15+ years and have experienced the highs and lows of this company. I've personally witnessed this company evolve from a traditional CSO ("Contract Sales Organization") specializing in sales teams to fully diverse global organization that providing support and solutions to the Pharma & Biotech industry. By being involved in all aspects of a product's life cycle, there are opportunities for those interested in either Clinical or Commercial (i.e. sales/sales support) opportunities. As many Pharma organizations outsource many areas of their organization, inVentiv is positioned to meet this growing trend in the industry.
Cons
In this organization, many are tasked with supporting multiple clients which can be overwhelming to those not experienced in a dynamic environment. Sometimes management is slow to recognize additional support may be needed. Hiring more "chiefs" is not the answer and can take opportunities away from others.

Top Sales and Marketing Representative
Sep 13, 2015 - Pharmaceuticals Sales Representative in Aurora, ILRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
INVENTIVE CORPORATION IS KNOWN NOT ONLY TO HAVE THE MOST REVENUE PRODUCING, BUT IN ADDITION TO THAT, THEY ARE KNOWN TO PROVIDE ENVIRONMENTS, MANAGERS, AND OVERALL SUPPORT SYSTEMS TO ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE THE GREATEST LIKELIHOOD OF OVER ACHIEVING ALL COMPANY EXSPECTATIONS.
Cons
I worked for Sunovion Pharmaceuticals and since working with that company, the pharmaceutical industry has changed. Pharmacies will no longer aid customers in ensuring that their often mistaken order is straightened out by contacting the doctor. While I believe there should be training and exams for representatives, materials optimizing the pass rate is guaranteed. Additionally, due to laws like HIPAA getting an elderly or disabled person to understand and appreciate the danger of mistaking medications is vertually impossible. Therefore, dagerous complications like CATATONIA ensue as a result. Or, more sad, death as a result.

An amazing place to learn and grow!
Oct 13, 2015 - District Sales Manager in Boston, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Senior Leadership focused on growing the company and landing more contracts by the day. Committed to developing talent from within, retaining, and promoting top talent on future contracts. Superior recruiting team - Susan Hamel in New England is one of the best recruiters in the industry period. The talent of the individuals I work with continues to impress me by the day and we learn from one another - the culture here focuses on learning and development.
Cons
In the field we have numerous personnel to drive sales, but the help desk can be limited as they cover all contracts rather than one specifically so at times it's challenging to gain a correct response. The infrastructure internally for expenses, benefits, analytics, questions from the field could grow to accommodate the size of our sales forces.

Pros
Depending on what office you work in and company you work for, there are a lot of great people. I made a lot of friends here. Some offices provide lunch, others don't. It's not bad if you can get used to their particular style of disfunction.
Cons
A disconnected company overall. It started as one company with one office in the 70s/80s, then through lots of acquisitions it's now global with many parent/child or sibling sub-companies, spread out all over the place. Most of the time the people in an individual sub-company would have no idea of the other companies that existed within inVentiv. If there was anyone there that knew how all the various acquired companies fit together, I never met them. I never saw a complete org chart of all the divisions and companies. Constantly reorganizing and restructuring. Each reorg/restructure comes with an "Office Space" type meeting, full of the latest buzz words. Constant questions and conflict between parent and child companies regarding office policies, how "X" will get paid for and whose budget it will come out of, and so on. I.T. is outsourced to India, most people won't even bother to try calling when they have a computer problem. Lots and lots of meetings. Lots of late nights due to things within their control, yet they never seem to take control of them.

inVentiv as a Career
Jan 25, 2016 - National Client Retention Director in Akron, OHRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I did not know what to think when I started wtih inVentiv over 5 years ago. To be honest I thought I would use it as a stop over place until I found something else. What I was please to find was a career. I found the better I performed and the more I became engaged the greater the possibilities became. I started as a District Manager. I was promoted onto a Nation Project Managed then National Business Director on National Client Retention Director. Every day is different and I have grown in both my career and in job satisfaction.
Cons
This is not a place to just coast. We all control our own destiny. If you own what you do and do not wait for others to ask you, then you will do great. It is a business that is dynamic and very interesting and I have enjoyed it. If you want to step aside or think others will do the job then this may not the company for you.

If you want to grow, find fulfillment at a job, be compensated fairly for your time, Inventiv is not for you!
Jul 11, 2013 -RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Relatively low maintenance job, you are not working 80 hour weeks
Cons
The list is endless. The senior level management has absolutely no direction. They get by with doing nothing. The company does not have a merit based rewarding system. So you absolutely have no incentive to do a good job, since the guy next to you, just cruising by gets the exact same promotions as you do. Actually neither of you are getting any promotions. The company pays the absolute lowest salary in the industry, I have looked and compared. There no cohesive team spirit, the work culture is not collaborative. The accounts department hates logistics and scientific; the scientific and logistics department hate accounts. Yeah not good. The company has done nothing to diversify. They do live meetings, and that is all they do. Sad! Innovate or die is how the industry works, so inventiv medical communications may be getting ready to die if there isn't some serious changes in the near future

Clinical division needs improvement
Sep 28, 2017 - Clinical Nurse EducatorRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Flexibility, autonomy, and benefits.
Cons
As a high performer my manager is never around to see what I am capable of. The professionalism of management is low and communication is poor. The territories are large and management has NO clue how large the territories are. Management tries to micromanage from a far and does not want open discussion in front of the client. Manager does not keep his/her commitments when they say they are going to send communication, hold meetings, observe, and more. If there is room for professional growth I have never seen it.
