I have been working at inhouseIT full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

I've been at inhouseIT over 10 years. I welcome a call any time to discuss the real inhouseIT. I spent my first 5 years as a Field Engineer and enjoyed working with great customers and other field engineers. I've spent the last 5 years as a Sales Engineer. This change in position allowed me to see how the other half of the company works. I probably have the most insight into how employees are treated and the inner...

    Cons

The primary cons with inhouseIT are the negative influences from previous employees. These are the undesirables that inhouseIT weeded out to create an effective and positive environment.

I worked at inhouseIT full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Few good people, not much else.

    Cons

Well I wanted to believe the hype that all of the reviews are from a bad employee. Yes some are from this previous employee but not all of them are. When 50 people have an issue with 1 person its uusally the person, but here we have the reverse of that. Several people have an issue with the employer/management and the issues seem to be closely related which would indicate that the company needs to look at itself...

If you look after your staff, they'll look after your customers. It's that simple. Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don't want to. Words of Sir Richard Branson

    Pros

With hundreds of unique environments to support you get your hands dirty right way and are challenged pretty much everyday - this keeps the mind sharp and experience gain quick. It is a great place to start your career as you can gain a lot of knowledge very quickly and are always supported by more knowledgable guys (Chuck is awesome and always willing to help). Management is great as well, at least at the VP level -...

The fact that they have to monetize time can become a little stressful for employees but that is understood and explained at the very beginning. Management is really easy going so that helps.

    Pros

Smaller Company. You can feel like you make a difference/have the opportunity to make a difference if you apply yourself. Lots of nice co-workers who were more than willing to teach.

    Cons

inhouseIT is dishonest on multiple levels and occasions. Looking back now I realize just how unethical this company was ran. I was terminated for blowing a whistle about them not correctly paying overtime. and because when blew the whistle that they were improperly billing somebody for 10+ years, and now that client needed the service they had been paying for, it wasn't activated the first thing the director said to me...

    Advice to Management

Please seek professional help, and not just take the lowest bidder. It would be wise to invest in an Organizational Behavior specialist that could help your company with the Ethic issues it greatly has. You need a reboot on Management, but unfortunately I feel that it's not even managements fault, the attitude and ethics all roll down hill from the CEO's of this company as it is a small company.

    Pros

You will grow and sharpen your skills at an amazing rate, even if you lied about them at the interview. I think everyone should enter the IT service industry just to see a broad range of problems from multiple companies and learn multiple solutions for each one. You can learn what works and what doesn't. You can also walk in to any environment and figure out what is wrong very quickly, because the customer is right...

Management should have patented that board game "Jump to conclusions" - from Office space. The customer is not always right. I've even been accused of posting on Glass door, When I read each post I knew exactly who each individual was. How could I know who each individual was, but management could not? GET IN GET GOOD GET OUT! Have at least a month or two worth of salary in Etrade at all times because you never...

    Advice to Management

Attrition is a bad business model. The grass is always greener when an employee is constantly being pounded down and beet upon. Maybe you should listen to the employee from time to time. This isn't Burger King, the customer is not always right. If you drop a penny around Red Hill and Main, someone from inhouseIT will be there to pick it up. Life isn't about picking up pennies, you should focus on customer satisfaction...

I worked at inhouseIT full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The fact they could get my base pay right was one thing. Too bad my bonus plan never turned into what they promised.

    Cons

I could explain all the bad things but just read these reviews. They are accurate. But do you like meetings? Do you like glassdoor? Do you like meeting about glassdoor? If so, maybe inhouseIT is right for you. Instead of fixing problems they point fingers and blame everyone but themselves.

    Advice to Management

Start with the truth. If you can manage to speak honestly thats where you all need to start. I wasted years of my life as you guys just continue to cycle through anyone and everyone. Shame on you all.

I worked at inhouseIT for more than a year

    Pros

I suppose after all this time and accusations I should post an accurate review of inhouseIT and by extension, Nuvotera. My tenure was during a transitional time. Many processes had been ignored and the turnover had created a depressed environment. But that first 90 days were awesome. Taking and making easy upgrades and trying to learn the culture. Working for a technology organization to bring them up to speed...

    Cons

Losing so many senior members cannot help. You saw the signs years ago but ignored it. Always thinking you can get a cheaper replacement. The false promises of joining the Project team. I lost count of the people that were transitioning to Projects only to have a 90 period. After 90 days it is now a probationary period. After another 90 days we need to review and observe. Do they work, however we will not pay you...

    Advice to Management

Build teamwork, reduce turnover and promote from within. Pay better. You are so far below market rate and you just do not care.

    Pros

The sales team knows how to sell thus we always have things to do. Many projects are scheduled and all we need are more people to help us.

    Cons

Many men, very few ladies. While there is the data to suggest this is normal, it seems like there are quite a few opportunities for a strong technical woman to fill the role. There is one woman in a senior management role but that's about it. There are no African-Americans and the few ethnic employees seem to be treated like indentured servants. In my few months I have seen a non-stop flow of people out and new people...

    Advice to Management

Make life better for everyone, not just yourselves. Team building events, training and a team-first approach will go far in building the kind of teams you say you want. Adjust pay to market rate, I came in low with promises that now I am not sure will be kept.

    Pros

Paychecks cleared, has great parking. The desk and chairs were awesome.

    Cons

Where to begin? Management has no clue of what they're doing and the turn over rate is so bad I'm surprised they haven't gone through every single IT/Telecom professional in OC yet. People quit or get fired so fast and it's all because of the CEO and upper managements' fear of losing control. You're in fear of losing your job each day which makes you go find a new one. The clients are great but they get nickel and...

    I worked at inhouseIT

    Pros

The team here is great with mostly young and bright engineers. It's a great place to work for if you are green in IT and want to learn the basics. The engineering team works well together and are willing to help you at anytime of the day.

    Cons

This is not a good place for you to advance further if you have years of experience in IT. If you want to advance and continue to learn new technologies, then forget it. You won't see much of that here. This is one of the reasons I see many great engineers leaving the company to find room for advancement somewhere else. The turn over rate here is the highest I have ever seen anywhere else in my entire IT career.

    Advice to Management

Try not to save a penny up front while letting a dollar goes out the back. Invest in your people and they will invest in your company. It's easier to retain existing employees than to constantly hiring new ones. It's bad for business and customers are not happy when new replacements keep showing up onsite. Also, stop trying to change too many wheels on the bus at once. There is something called change control and...
