    Approves of CEO

I have been working at inhouseIT

    Pros

The organization reinforces appreciation at every touch point. People work very hard but everyone comes through. I T is a difficult business but open communication and appreciation is everywhere here and that makes it easier with all of the unpredictable variables of technology.

    Cons

You have to speak up - people tend to keep things amongst themselves and a few peers and it is super easy to get resentful when that happens. The CEOs door is ALWAYS open - yes he is very busy but never too buys to talk about a persons career path and vision. Totally unique to any company I have ever worked before.

    Advice to Management

Keep seeking out feedback from all employees - realize people come from paradigms where they are afraid to say what is what - keep encouraging candor and openness.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at inhouseIT full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The clients are well adjusted, reasonable and professional.

    Cons

Lack of career path/development for engineers, and a top heavy management team. High turnover with 6 VPs and only a handful of engineers. It is easy to see where the paycheck deficit lies in terms of engineer and support staff compensation. The CEO has and will lecture you on how fortunate you are to work for him and that he is CEO Jesus. Management does not have client best...

    Advice to Management

Promote from within. Develop a mentoring program to develop field engineers into IT Directors and give employees incentive to learn and teach. Extract the management ballast. Replace Ackerman with a real CEO who values employees with actions instead of half smiles and false promises.

"A great place to work if you want a start in small business IT"

I worked at inhouseIT full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

This is a great place to work if you're getting your start in IT and want to learn various technologies. The company works with several small to medium businesses and this exposes you to different things that you would not see if you only worked at one company. The engineers you also work with are a great team and will provide help and support if you ever get stuck on troubleshooting.

    Cons

Lack of a career path within the company if you start at helpdesk and want to work your way up to a field engineer or project engineer.

    Advice to Management

Develop a career path for IT staff.
