    Pros

High-tech company with good revenue and potential.

    Cons

Extremely unorganized. Needs a complete overhaul of all operational processes. They were just acquired by public Swedish company and closed south bay office.

I worked at mBlox full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This place can give you great experience in multiple fields if you don't get laid off first that is. The experience you gain will not be to grow at this company but so you can go to a different company and get paid way more then mBlox pays you.

Oh and the people. they are a big pro.

    Cons

So many secrets and lies at this place. All of the good people and talent have left the company or got laid off. Who is running it now are people who do not care about quality work, following the guidelines, or making sure the clients abide by the rules. They just want the $$$ even if it will cause more work or issues in the future. The mangers do not communicate with their staff and in some instances the manager doesn't even help the team or know what some functions do. The Atlanta move is a great big joke. They are loosing money to make the move. They tried to lie and stretch it out so the employees wouldn't start looking for a stable job. The new CEO is just going to drain the company dry and move on. They lay off people because they need to save money but then finance sees big bills for dinners, hotels, and his rent.

I do not expect the company to be around much longer.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the CEO and consider making the company more about quality again. Laying off everyone with the skills and hiring a bunch of noobs with poor training to take over is just bad practice.

I worked at mBlox full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Salary, wfh flexibility. Non-management employees competent and nice people trying to do the best job they can.

    Cons

Unrealistic product roadmap. Projects that spiral out of control and literally cost $$$ before getting cancelled entirely. Virtually no one close to customers who understands the market place or product management - no product innovation. Qualified people leave out of frustration so unqualified people stick around and get promoted to their level of extreme incompetence.

    Advice to Management

Lose the acting CEO, the third in 5 years who is ineffective and has turned nothing around as well as all other CXO leadership. The "board / investors" have clearly realised there is no path to profitability so is making mBlox work with other companies in their portfolio to take money out of mBlox.

    Cons

Sr level indecisiveness. No direction. No recognition for job well done.

    Pros

If you're lucky, you can be working under some "brilliant" mangers that you think you're the smartest person in the world.

    Cons

This is a place for you if all you want is a pay check. Do not come here if you expect any sort of career growth. HR is almost useless and if you want to leave, they will pave the road for you instead of offering you some kind of solutions.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to employee and especially those "brilliant" managers who do not do much.

    Pros

You get a lot of experience in a short amount of time. Come prepared to hit the ground running and dive in head first.

    Cons

If you dive in head first, don't expect management to forgive mistakes or save you. People are expected to know how to do everything, but without formal training or previous experience. And don't anticipate actually receiving any of the information you need ahead of time (lots of unsaid expectations and lack of communication across groups on status or deliverables).
Raises are generally around 1-2% (if that).

    Advice to Management

Jeff Clark is not the CEO of this organization. Andrew Dark (managed out of the UK) is the CEO at mBlox.

    Pros

The social life was pretty good. Work/Life balance was ok with some opportunities to WFH.

    Cons

Senior management was third rate - dismal strategy, very poor leadership, terrible communication and some odious characters (I'm looking at you Sales) - resulting in widespread discontent and an exodus of talent. I'm amazed this company has survived!

  9. "No job security"

    StarStarStarStarStar
    • Career Opportunities

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

The people are nice, it is a very friendly environment to work in. There is a nice team environment and god comradery?

    Cons

There is no job security. Redundancies have become commonplace every 6 months. There is a culture of blame amongst higher management.

    Advice to Management

Six months ago upper management were promising no further redundancies, six months later and it's happening again. Stop promoting people because of their longevity - you are promoting incompetence.

    Pros

People are friendly but location makes it hard to socialise.

    Cons

    Location.
    Poor management.
    No facilities for lunch externally.
