A place that invests in you

mgm understands that their employees work best when they are supported. One of the biggest things for me was finding out in my interview that they have never laid off employees. Even when they lost their biggest client at the time, they came to a deal to keep the employees on at a reduced salary until new work was found for them, then paid back the lost salary plus interest. I truly feel secure in my position at mgm. It made a lot of sense to me that three of the four people I interviewed with had a minimum of 10 years working with mgm. Even if you find you are looking to switch things up and change roles, they would rather keep you on and find something that fits you better than have you go elsewhere. They just rolled out an internal learning system to help with exactly that with internal experts sharing their expertise to help the company as a whole grow. On top of that, they have all of the standard boxes checked. The benefits are great, there are so many opportunities to learn and grow, and everyone I have worked with is smart, friendly, and a pleasure to work with.
Cons
It is a tech consulting company, so there are the usual client side shenanigans. But that's to be expected. Not truly a con depending on the person, but though you are supported when you ask for it, there isn't much hand-holding. You are expected to learn and perform and drive yourself almost right from the get go. Also not truly a con, but the atmosphere is generally more European. Some cultural misunderstandings can happen.

Enterprise level projects with start up feeling and a great team
Dec 16, 2019 - Chief Executive Officer in Alexandria, VARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great, challenging, long-running projects with long-term customers that place a lot of trust into the solutions mgm is supplying. Incredibly smart colleagues that find IT solutions to any business problem. Fun, friendly and respectful environment with lots of benefits and fair salaries.
Cons
Still a small office in the US (~10-15) but a lot of interaction with the headquarters in Munich and the other offices in Germany, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Austria and Vietnam.

A startup culture at an established company
Jul 11, 2019 - Senior Marketing Specialist in Alexandria, VARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Small D.C. office inside a larger (800+) company--everyone knows everyone and is excited by other people's projects - Open office and communication - Easy collaboration with international colleagues - Cool and challenging technology projects with big-name clients - Culture of retention, intellectual curiosity, and excellence - Good pay for good work - Excellent work/life balance
Cons
- Small office can sometimes feel quiet - DIY career; not great for people who want a pre-made career path

Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback—we've been working hard on opening our U.S. office and we're proud of the work we've been able to do to connect our D.C. colleagues with our international teams. I'm delighted to hear that you're enjoying our projects and notice our retention-focused culture. You're also right that we're not great for people who want a clear career ladder; we're very much so in the business of putting the right people in the right job at the right time instead of a formulaic approach to job progression!

Ok, but bad projects and people management
Apr 26, 2022 - Software Engineer in PragueRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Great benefits, above average in Prague - Nice office and colleagues - Non-stressful work, in general
Cons
- Almost all projects are legacy, some with +10 years outdated, without perspective of improvements - They have 2 bigger customers and that's all, no project in other fields would be available anytime soon - They give the least worst projects to favorite devs, specially local ones, foreigners always get the worst ones without alternative - They manage people badly. The ones from abroad quite often have to join a project where they don't have expertise, even sometimes into roles not purely dev - They move people from projects without properly asking them if they want to move, usually because the projects are so complicated to work in that they have to force someone to join
