      Pros

Super collaborative work environment, fast paced, and rewarding. Lots of room for personal growth within the company. Achievements are recognized and celebrated company wide. Reputation in the industry is outstanding. Benefits are great and this company cares about its employees.

      Cons

Some growing pains due to rapid success and scale, but overall working through those pretty well.

An Incredible Company with Great Spirit

Jan 28, 2017 - Technical Writer in Wilmington, NC

      Pros

-Incredible work/life balance. -You are treated like an adult. You are trusted. So there's no clocking in and out, or hour tracking (at least, in PD&E). As long as you get your work done, you can come and go as you please. However, because you work hard, you don't take advantage of it. It's genius. -Supportive, friendly, fun co-workers who work hard and play hard. -Incredible benefits (HSA account with money in it from company, incredible insurance coverage for you and your spouse). -If you show you are willing to learn something new, it goes a long, long way. -If you want something to happen, you make it happen. And you are supported in doing so. -Amazing social activities (great annual holiday party, excellent company events that build morale and inclusion. You feel like you are truly part of something great).

      Cons

-Because it's a start-up, there are growing pains here that you won't feel elsewhere (for example, process mishaps-- or lack thereof--but that's also part of why it's very liberating to work here). Sometimes you feel like you are riding a rollercoaster. But you're in good hands. -Sometimes, there are too many cooks in the kitchen here, which can get annoying. -We are paid incredibly well for this region, and this city (this is one of the most coveted companies to work for not only in Wilmington, but in North Carolina), but relative to similar positions at Silicon Valley software companies, we are paid less than industry standard.

Couldn't have asked for a better job

      Pros

Great company, great coworkers, great culture (in-house kegs open every Friday afternoon, ping pong and video games upstairs) and I've never felt this productive in my life before. I find myself coming home at the end of the day and logging back in after a few hours to finish what I was working on earlier.

      Cons

There are the generic "growing pains" with such a young company obviously, but I doubt it's anything unique to nCino. This is definitely felt as a dev (business requirements aren't really decided until after you do dev work) but it's nothing I'd lose sleep over at this point. Also, personally as a dev, I am not a huge fan of working with Salesforce, but that's probably a me-problem.

Company is growing fast and not everyone can handle the pace - some slow movers may struggle. Growing pains of doubling headcount yearly.
