Food orders for breakfast & lunch meetings. Additional personal days for PTO. Strong sense of community/family among employees. Free movie passes as a birthday gift. Bi-annual taxable fringe benefits (Product) as well as blemish free products on a periodic basis.
Cons
Lack of structured growth model forced reliance on promotional activity in the direct to consumer market. Degraded perception as a prestige brand due to high discount activity. Purchase by large conglomerate has degraded the company spirit.

Pros
It was fun going into all of the stores to help them with their day to day business is as a special guest. The products are great and a very reasonable price. They sell themselves and make great gifts that everyone likes. The bath products are simply amazing and smell delicious. The purity cleansers are very nice and clean the skin well. They have something for all skin types. If you understand basic skincare and can approach people you will do well. The sales per hour goals were reasonable, even in the summer time. It was easy to sell during the holiday season. Sales incentives were fun too. If you sold so many of a focus product, than you could earn one for yourself.
Cons
The communication was all over the place. The training was minimal. One store could be over an hour away for working a 4 or 5 hour shift. Some stores welcomed freelance staff more than others. If it was your fist time in a door you did not know what you were walking into. Not all stores of the same name are operated in the same way. The schedule can change quickly. If this is not a primary job or a fun job plan on about 3-19 hours per week. It depends on where the managers need you and what events are going on at the store. Some retailers do not get enough stock of the featured deal or GWPs. The customers get frustrated. Work with the store management or counter management to get the needed information regarding on hands. Communicate the stock concerns to your Territory Manager. Some stores were horribly understaffed and many customers would ask for help with things we did not know anything about. It was nice to be able to say I am a guest in the store with Philosophy. If you are sales and product savvy enough you could help in other lines and link sale back to philosophy so you could meet your goals.

Aug 20, 2010 - Sales Associate in Chandler, AZRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Philosophy has an amazing corporate company culture. They provide excellent benefits and thorough triaining. Philosophy has a great devoted fan base.
Cons
Boutiques have gona downhill since mid 2009 due to change in management. Stores experienced complete turn over and all new management is not good representation of the integrity of the company. Disconnect among corporate and boutiques.

Pros
It's a culture you would like to be apart of. it did change though once COTY came in and bought the company.
Cons
Once COTY bought the company things changed. Culture, feeling and everyone was on edge, when they were going to lose their jobs. I luckily left soon after they were bought
