    Pros

A fail fast mentality organization. Allows for ultimate personal ownership to develop solutions for business challenges. Ability to work alongside product and technology partners to build long term solutions for customers.

    Cons

The fast paced environment is not for everyone. When the company says GSD it means it. Some people cannot handle that autonomy. With many different priorities for all the customers we have, it can be a challenge to get all things done. This also requires people to find solutions to problems on their own.

    Advice to Management

Listen more to voice of customer both internally and externally. While some of this is just complaining there is often underling truth that needs to be solved, which is usually better communication.

    Pros

Real opportunities for growth and autonomy if you're willing to take initiative. The company's also well-positioned within a growing space, if you care about that sort of macro-level thing. CEO is, in my opinion, a true visionary.

    Cons

As with many scaling companies, there's been a growing sense of entitlement among the employee base over the last year or two.

    Advice to Management

Don't cater to whiny employees. Remember what got us here.

    Pros

Lots of opportunities to take the initiative. Senior management gives people lots of independence to find solutions to complex problems. Performance is rewarded.

    Cons

The company tries to do too many things at once. This leads to a lack of direction and significant strain on key company resources.

    Advice to Management

Focus on doing a few things well.

    Pros

xAd offers constant growth as an employee and within your career. There are limitless opportunities to learn about latest technology and trends in advertising and marketing.

    Cons

With the speed of growth the company experienced, it's sometimes hard to navigate around - a typical challenge in fast-growing startups.

    Pros

xAd is a company that while maturing is still enough of a start-up that you have the ability to make an impact with a lot of freedom and flexibility. If you consistently deliver, prove yourself and own your role it will be recognized.
There are tons of great perks including free food, 401k match, unlimited vacation, gym & cell reimbursement, maternity leave, fun happy hours, great offices, etc.

    Cons

xAd is in a time of transition which means some exits and changes in staff to support the next stage of the company. There is lack of structure and processes in areas which can cause frustrations but also opportunity to create and define the structures and processes.

I worked at xAd full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Not many except the unlimited PTO. Fully stocked kitchens and catered lunch. They try - but the food is typically low quality.

    Cons

This company is a joke. I literally wasted my time here to realize that no one values your contribution. They believe if you make noise and use lot of bad words then you are great fit for team! Really shame on your management skills! The worst company I have ever worked for in terms of culture. Zero culture to speak of. No energy, no excitement, no innovation. No recognition for your contribution. Weak leadership. Short-term thinking. No long-term company vision or clear strategy. Frequent lay-offs. High attrition rate. No respect for employees. Average, low-quality, low-skilled, brainless gossip mongers thrive in this ‘playground politics’ environment. All previous glassdoor reviews like "Good/Great for talented people" are all fake. Those reviews are to cover frequent layoffs. All good players are leaving company or already left.

    Advice to Management

Respect your employees at least enough to know what their contributions are. Take a look at middle management. Work on creating some kind of genuine culture.

I worked at xAd full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free lunch, Awesome View, Great Coworker, Good Health Care, Happy Hours, Snacks in the kitchen, some 401k match.

    Cons

Management misleads employees claiming that people leaving was a normal situation but now it's clear the mass layoffs are happening. Morale is low and people or looking for other jobs. It's is clear that Google, Facebook, Snapchat, and Amazon are squeezing their margins causing the company to make significant jobs cuts to the staff. They purchased WeatherBug as a hail Mary and are not seeing the return on the synergy that they anticipated. No work life balance, not surprisingly to see people in the office at 11 PM on Saturday working hard and then laid off that Monday. No work life balance, none. Expect to work on major holidays and weekends.

It's an advertising company so as an employee you find yourself sold on what is presented to you. You are exposed to these amazing offices and "perks" but quickly discover that it's like the movie "Get Out" and you've been deceived. The pull the same tricks on their clients as well.

    Advice to Management

Please be more transparent with your team. You should have given employees more time to find employment elsewhere instead of claiming that everything was fine during the staff meeting and then proceed to have 2 major (25+) layoff events we are professionals and would have worked hard while searching for gainful employment elsewhere. The company speaks about transparency and how you can fail and improve but one they don't need you they throw you out. You spent a small fortune on the NYC and MV office but forgot about the people.

I have been working at xAd full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Catered lunch, decent benefits, cell phone and gym stipend

    Cons

This is not a hot pre IPO company. Someone may eventually acquire the product but xAd is not sustainable. Why?

    Hiring
Friends of executives can be part of an accounting fraud scandal and be hired with open arms. Says a lot about strategic hiring and putting the right people in place to get the company to the next phase. Horrible leaders are hired and great leaders either quit or get fired for voicing any kind of opinion or not adhering to conformity.

    Management
Young or inexperience managers leading regions. If you've been with the company for a long time it’s assumed you’re management material. Most managers are better as employees and not leading teams. Others skate by hoping no one will notice they are imbeciles. Those in the lower rungs know these managers are terrible.

    Executives
Gross. Morally terrible and lacking ethics. Inquire about the intricate happenings at HQ and you’ll see what I mean. Morally bankrupt. Marketing is ok.

    Product
Weak. Great ideas but poorly executed. Definitely not the next Google or Facebook, more like the sad asinine distant cousin. "Brand safety” is the shiny new thing to win advertising dollars and alleviate the on going financial struggles.

    Culture/Pillars
Despite having a "culture team" there really is no culture. No one can really define xAd culture but claims it exists. The mantra DTR (Disruptive, Transparent, Relentless) is a complete lie. Especially the T, NO TRANSPARENCY what so ever. This applies to employees and clients. Dear clients, the constant product/pricing releases is to give you a shiny new toy to be pacified by. If you look close it’s all smoke and mirrors. You must thank marketing for this, they rock!

    Advice to Management

Overall, the ideas brewed are great in the ever evolving mobile and location space but execution is poor. Someone else will come along, dominate and show xAd how they should have and could have done things right. xAd will certainly last a while by faking innovation. Fix the products that don’t work and add real value (not false marketing generated value) and maybe you’ll stick around much longer. HR stop responding with “growing pains” statement and actually take the steps to move towards systemic changes.
