How much does a Director make?

I was offered a Strategy Director role in NYC at $150k and I told them that I won't take less than $170k. I'm an African-American woman and I know holding companies are paying a premium for Black talent. Why offer me $150k as if I don't know the market and that you're hiring me in some manners for PR.I've been offered as much as $200K for healthcare Strategy Director roles, so $150k is a no go. Know your worth.

I'm a youngish (mid 30s) CPA and Tax Director for a large Series E funded company. I've spent the last 4 years building our tax department from scratch to handling all domestic SALT matters (in over 40 states) while maintaining financial reporting responsibilities under ASC 740 for the audit. I've also taught myself Python/SQL and have coded up many of the tools we use to handle/automate compliance. I feel like I'm substantially below market comp in the low 100s. Any thoughts from Fishbowl tax?

Trying to move from manager to director of a team that I’ve grown over the last 14 years. It’s a very small team, but impacts almost every deal the company makes. I’m concerned they’ll say the salary bump I want (25%) is too high, however I see comparable roles with other companies for $175 - 200k. I’m at $120k, asking for $150k. Any suggestions to help make my argument, or does this salary even make sense??? How do I get the biggest increase WITHOUT jumping to another company?
