Licensed Vocational Nurse LVN

I graduated in May and got my license in July in Houston,tx.I have no healthcare experience so not sure what salary I should ask for in the appl.I feel I am low ball myself if I pick the lowest pay.Our teachers told us there's such a need for nurses we can name our price(mid/high of pay scale). My classmates got jobs on higher end of scale but they live in a small urban area and I'm in a larger city. I thought I would get equal to higher pay if I am in a larger city but the scale seems low here..
