Latest Rating about Pay and Benefits at US Agency for International Development

US Agency for International Development

Pay & Benefits Rating 3.7

Coming from the private sector, I really appreciate this. Foreign Service pension is a bit more generous than Civil Service due to the hardships of working overseas. Basically 1.7% per year of service paid against the average of your highest three years. Anything over 20 years is an extra 1%. That equates to 34% of your salary for 20 years service. Combined with the TSP it is a very comfortable retirement.
