Academy Mortgage is celebrating 30 years of service! Founded in 1988, we have successfully navigated through all the housing and lending market fluctuations over the past three decades by providing FANonemal service, customized loan solutions, and an unwavering commitment to responsible lending practices. We began as a family-owned company, and we remain a family-owned company. We owe it to our incredible teams of employees, referral partners, and homebuyers for being a part of the Academy family and for helping us to Inspire Hope, Deliver Dreams, and Build Prosperity for 30 years.
A group of more than 160 loan officers, managers, executives, and other company representatives participated in Academy’s Service Expedition to South Africa in September. The Expeditioners gave two days of service to benefit The Makwetse School, which is located near Kruger National Park and is filled to capacity with more than 700 students
Improving the school’s infrastructure was Academy’s primary focus. Academy volunteers assisted with the construction of a desperately needed school kitchen—a life-saving addition in an environment where school meals are often some students’ only meals of the day. To help keep the kitchen shelves stocked, Academy volunteers also built key-hole gardens, which the students will tend. Other projects included: painting classrooms and windows, refurbishing over 400 student desks, and painting bookshelves for the school’s new library in bright colors. All of the projects, including the construction of the library and future construction of a new playground, were funded by Academy.
This month more than 100 Loan Officers, Managers, and Employees participated in Academy Mortgage’s Service Expedition to Amaru, Peru. To ease the villagers’ burden of having to travel long distances to reach a water source, Academy volunteers built a small reservoir and trenched and laid pipe for an irrigation system. They also helped with the construction of a Production Center where the villagers can produce handicrafts to sell, allowing them to stay and earning a living in Amaru.
