This LGBTQ Pride Month, we’re recognizing Illinois native Dr. Howard Brown, who served as New York City Health Services Administrator in the 1970s. He made front-page news when he publicly announced he was gay. Dr. Brown was also a founder of the National LGBTQ Task Force.
