  • We celebrated Juneteenth last week and made an announcement to update our community on how we're using our $1 million fund to support social justice and civil and human rights. Read more below. It’s fitting that today on the 155th anniversary of Juneteenth — when many in our country recognize the strength, resilience and often painful history of Black Americans — we share an update about our commitment to racial and social justice for all our fellow citizens. We had an open dialogue with Cox employees on which organizations our recently established $1 million fund should support, and we’re pleased to announce that we’ll be committing funds to: Equal Justice Initiative, United Negro College Fund, National Urban League as well as the National Center for Civil and Human Rights (NCCHR) and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Action. #juneteenth #lifeatcox

    the James M. Cox Foundation, named after the company’s founder, announced a local gift of $25,000 to St. Mary’s Food Bank in Phoenix that will provide 175,000 meals. A small group of Cox and Cox Automotive employees gathered (practicing appropriate social distancing), to assist the St. Mary’s team in preparing food boxes for distribution on Wednesday May 6 at Gila River Arena in Glendale where more than 500 families are expected to be served.
