    Forbes Names FM Global One of 'America's Best Employers for Diversity'

    JOHNSTON, R.I., USA- FM Global, one of the world's largest commercial and industrial property insurers, has been named to " America's Best Employers for Diversity" list by Forbes. The mutual insurer is ranked number 221 out of 250 companies. According to Forbes, "One study after another has shown that companies with more diverse teams have stronger financial performance.

  • FM Global and PARIMA (Pan-Asia Risk and Insurance Management Association) co-organized an exclusive cocktail reception for prospects and broker partners in Hong Kong. Risk management expert and former BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) presenter Nik Gowing was the keynote speaker. His discussion, titled “Thinking the Unthinkable: Leadership in the Digital Age,” focused on the result of his investigation into the risks confronting Asian business leaders in the digital age.

  • Society of Women Engineers (SWE) members from the Sydney and Melbourne, Australia, offices attended a luncheon for International Women's Day. Pictured are employees who attended the Sydney event. The keynote speaker was internationally renowned Susan Colantuono, who is an expert in women’s leadership development, gender dynamics and hidden gender bias.

  • 2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the FM Global Research Campus, located in West Glocester, Rhode Island, USA. In 1967, the original test center opened in West Glocester as the largest fire test facility in the world. Its full-scale testing capabilities included realistic rack-storage fires and ultimately led to many new property loss prevention breakthroughs, such as the development of in-rack sprinklers.

  • Employees from FM Global’s corporate offices in Johnston, Rhode Island, USA, participated in a United Way Day of Caring volunteer event to support the local community. Volunteers assisted with environmental cleanup and beautification efforts along the Woonasquatucket River in Providence, R.I. Activities included mulching and weeding paths and flower beds, and litter removal.

    Audubon International has designated FM Global's 93-acre [38-hectare] corporate office park in Johnston, Rhode Island, USA, as a "Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary." The site is the first in the state to receive the certification and one of only 32 such properties in the world.
