    EB moving hundreds to Mashantuckets' Eagle Park property

    Electric Boat will relocate some 400 designers and engineers working at its Fort Trumbull facility in New London to Eagle Park, the vacant Mashantucket Pequot-owned property that straddles the North Stonington-Stonington line near Exit 92 of Interstate 95. The shipbuilder plans to start moving employees, including a small team supporting warehouse operations, in mid-September, according to Liz Power, an EB spokeswoman.

The Electric Boat Diesels played other semi-professional teams across New England, and on November 28, 1943, played the Green Bay Packers. Over 10,000 people attended the game.     Groton - The Navy will award a contract to Electric Boat for initial maintenance work on the Virginia-class fast-attack submarine Indiana, a decision that U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney, D-2nd District, said will help EB avoid a projected dip in employment at the end of the year.

    A ceremonial groundbreaking was held Monday on a new $800 million project at General Dynamics Electric Boat in North Kingstown. The site in Quonset will eventually house fourteen acres of manufacturing space for submarine construction.
