  • Announcing an exciting new addition to the HZ Team. Semhar Tesfay recently assumed the role of Director of Human Resources, bringing with her the perfect blend of both agency-side business acumen and human resources experience. In this role, Semhar leads the charge around talent acquisition, employee relations, and benefits administration. Semhar has amassed great depth of experience running HR initiatives at major agencies including Mullen, Saatchi, Arnold, Grey and Publicis. While much of her time was spent in NYC, we are lucky enough to benefit from a recent move to the DC area.

    Advertising giant WPP to buy Rockville-based ad firm

    HZ, a Rockville-based advertising agency with offices in Los Angeles, New York and D.C., announced Tuesday that it has reached an agreement to be bought by Burson, Cohn and Wolfe, a New York-based division of the global ad agency WPP, plc.

    JANA McCLELLAND is a third-generation dairy farmer in Petaluma, Calif. This October, she expects 600 to 1,200 people to visit her family's farm. She plans to take them to the nursery, the milking parlor and the pastures. "We know people care where their food comes from," she said.

    This Agency Created an Ad-Free, Niche Cooking Magazine

    A new magazine hit newsstands this week-a niche cooking magazine called Sous-Vide-and the team behind it might surprise you. While the concept for the magazine came from company Cuisine Solutions, 95 percent of the content created for it was composed by creative agency HZDG's content studio.

    Independent integrated advertising agency HZDG has expanded its video and content capabilities with the acquisition of commercial production, special effects, and post-production company BURNº. As part of the deal, BURNº principal Andrew Fetchko joins HZDG as Creative Director of Video and In-House Director.
