    On October 21, 2021, Helen of Troy celebrated of El Paso Giving Day by announcing donations to support local organizations making an impact. Partnering with the Paso Del Norte Community Foundation for the second consecutive year, Helen of Troy will be giving $100,000 in donations to eight El Paso-area non-profits. Organizations receiving support inlude: NAMI EP, Borderland Rainbow Center, Amistad - El Paso, TX, Ciudad Nueva Community Outreach, Center Against Sexual & Family Violence, American Red Cross El Paso, El Paso Center for Children, Inc. and Green Hope Project. The mission and values of these organizations aligns with our commitment to create a culture of inclusion & belonging for all.

    Bravery. Equity. Allyship. These were among the compelling topics Reshma Saujani, Founder and CEO of Girls Who Code and our CEO Julien Mininberg discussed during our thoughtful and engaging #BraveNotPerfect webinar. During their conversation, nearly 1,000 Helen of Troy associates gained insights about the differences between women and men that will aid them personally and professionally as parents, spouses, colleagues, leaders, and more. We’re pleased to share a few of these insights: On bravery: "I need to have more confidence in myself as a professional and a woman. I know I deserve to have a seat at the table and deserve to be heard. I'm ready to take more chances even if I fail." On equity: "Let men be vulnerable, emotional, so that it builds acceptance that they not always needing to be brave…while also not always expecting women be perfect. Let people be who they are. On allyship: "I feel empowered after hearing Reshma. She made me energized and ready to run through a brick wall in the name of women’s rights and equality."

    Congrats to the 2020 CEO Awards winners! This year’s class is a testament to the hard work being done in every corner of Helen of Troy. Winners spanned across multiple business segments, functions, and locations. On Wednesday, October 28th, associates from around the world tuned into the virtual ceremony to celebrate the individual and team winners. Our CEO, Julien Mininberg, recognized the group’s excellence in driving business success and living our Culture Values. The ceremony also included acceptance and congratulations videos from the winners and their colleagues. Julien also gave an extraordinary service award to employees in our Distribution Centers. Earlier in the week, the 2020 Class came together across many time zones for virtual happy hours and a Power Of ONE team-building workshop.

    On Wednesday, October 21st, National Park Trust presented Hydro Flask with the 2020 American Park Experience Award (#APEXAward). For the first time in the history of the award, National Park Trust bestowed this honor not on a person, but on an organization - recognizing Hydro Flask’s innovative and impactful #ParksForAll giving program for its extraordinary contributions to enhance the awareness and appreciation of our nation’s parks and public lands and waters.

  • OXO recently announced its partnership with 1% for the Planet, committing to donate 1% of its annual sales toward environmental causes. Larry Witt, President of Helen of Troy Housewares, commented: "At this time in history, we acknowledge the fragile state of our planet, and the impact individuals and companies have on the earth. We're striving to be better environmental stewards, and this initiative is a big step in our journey of reflection and action to become more environmentally responsible."   • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion make lives better and Helen of Troy stronger. As we reaffirm our commitment to positive change by making the implicit much more explicit, we celebrate all races, ethnicities, cultures, sexual orientation, and gender identities. We are in the process of taking action by implementing several strategic and highly-visible diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives: - Required unconscious bias training for all associates - Active listening sessions - Creation of a new company-wide diversity, equity and inclusion leadership position - New multi-year programs related to recruiting, monetary donations, and volunteerism

  • Senior leaders from across Helen of Troy recently gathered in Atlanta to Learn, Engage, Activate, Discover at the inaugural #LEAD2020 conference. During the three-day event, participants heard from thought leaders on topics such as “shadow of the leader,” “embracing the suck,” design thinking principles, and moving from a fixed mindset to growth mindset. On the final day, our leaders collaborated and competed in a #hackathon that left everyone energized and eager to implement key learnings from #LEAD2020.
