Company Updates

  • We're so excited for you to meet our new President CEO, Dr. Aaron Kowalski!

  • Did you know JDRF's advocacy and government relations teams help sustain critical support for T1D research funded by the Federal Government and work tirelessly to ensure people have access to the most effective T1D treatments and therapies?
Here's our own amazing Cynthia Rice, JDRF's SVP Advocacy & Policy, in a recent article in The Hill...

Drug pricing fight centers on insulin

Lawmakers are zeroing in on the skyrocketing cost of insulin and putting pressure on manufacturers as they work to address high drug prices. Congressional Democrats, Republicans and the Trump administration say that lowering drug prices is a priority, and drugmakers are on the hot seat. Insulin could prove an easy target in that push.

  • With every learning from a clinical trial and every breakthrough, we get closer to the day when no one has to live with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Autoimmunity is a tough challenge, but we at JDRF and in the T1D community are not intimidated, we are motivated.

Let’s not forget what it was like to live with T1D even just 10 years ago! Managing this disease has become safer and easier every year, and in 2019 we will continue this progress.

Here’s what we’re most excited to see unfold in 2019!

  • Happy World Diabetes Day! Some of our staff members celebrated with Robin Roberts on Good Morning America this morning!

  • One of our great staff members, Barbara met Al Roker!

  • We spent the morning at the Today Show with our awesome partners from The American Diabetes Association kicking off National Diabetes Awareness Month!

  • Here's an awesome reminder of why we do what we do! Visit this link: http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQrxZ to get a glimpse into the impact our JDRF community has. You’ll “meet” the latest crop of dedicated, brilliant scientists to receive early-career funding by JDRF and who are committing their time, talent and expertise to pursuing answers to the incredibly complex problem that is type 1 diabetes.

Future of T1D Research - JDRF

The shortage of donor beta cells and the need for strong immunosuppressive drugs to prevent immune attack make beta cell replacement available only to people with severe life-threatening unawareness of their low blood sugar, called hypoglycemia.

  • Last week, members of JDRF's People Team helped our NYC & Long Island Chapter create motivational posters for the upcoming JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes in Saratoga Springs on September 15th. Best of luck to all of our amazing riders!
