LexisNexis was recognized in multiple award categories by Corporate Counsel and selected as the best Public Records Research Provider by The National Law Journal.
Ian McDougall, Executive Vice President and General Counsel, LexisNexis Legal & Professional, was awarded the Outstanding International Corporate Counsel Award by the American Bar Association (ABA) during the 2018 Annual Conference of the Section of International Law. The award is given to an ABA member who is a practicing attorney working as in-house counsel and who has demonstrated a significant contribution to the legal profession and the advancement of the practice of law internationally.
Ian was selected as the 2018 recipient because of his personal and professional commitment to advance the rule of law across the globe. He has worked to educate groups on the elements of the rule of law and the fundamental importance of rule of law for economic growth and development, building stable societies, and other outcomes such as decreased crime and corruption rates and enhanced life expectancy.

LexisNexis Legal & Professional launched LexisNexis Practical Guidance: Social Justice, a free product aimed at offering information and guidance for individuals who are unable to afford a lawyer, wish to represent themselves in court, or better understand their rights in New Zealand. It is the intention of LexisNexis to promote the use of the product within the community, allowing the general public access to free legal information.

The 2018 LexisNexis Cognitive Computing Summit brought employees from all over the world to Raleigh, N.C., for two days of knowledge sharing, learning and networking. From data science to data lakes, to chatbots to data visualization and search technologies, teams explored cognitive computing across the company and showcased innovative technology solutions to solving our customers’ problems. Vijilent was a recent participant in the LexisNexis Legal Tech Accelerator Program for startups that are driving innovation in the legal tech industry.
LexisNexis Legal & Professional moved to Centennial Campus in 2014 with 300 employees. Today, at nearly 700 employees, the company has grown to be the largest industry partner on campus—adding nearly 150 employees each year.
