Last week, Macy’s, Inc. hosted our second annual "Week of Understanding." Inspired by CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™, we hosted daily sessions, bringing all Macy’s, Bloomingdale's and Bluemercury colleagues together to have conversations and further our culture of inclusion and understanding. We brought focus to our work with CEO Action, systemic racism, LGBTQ+ Inclusivity, allyship in the workplace, well-being and more. Additionally, all leaders and teams came together for crucial and candid conversations where they reflected and built upon the weeklong discussions. The overall programming shined a spotlight on the importance of open dialogue, best practices for fostering greater awareness and how to inspire change.
Thank you to our Macy's customers and colleagues who rounded up their purchases to donate more than $1.5 million for Girls Inc.'s STEM and College & Career Readiness programming this Women's History Month – empowering the next generation of female leaders to be strong, smart and bold. Macy’s South Coast Plaza hosted a virtual presentation for 175 Girls Inc. girls from their community to conduct mock interview sessions, learn about work appropriate makeup, professional communication skills and more! Six lucky girls were selected to join Macy’s colleagues for a fun in-person shopping and fashion show at the store to showcase professional styling options.
