  • Molina Healthcare recently sponsored a panel event for national Make a Difference day with Claflin University's Minority Association of Pre-Med Students. David Irizarry, Community Engagement Specialist, shared some heartfelt career advice with the students: "Prepare yourself to lead a transformation that leaves a permanent impact for generations to come. Fall in love with whatever you do and approach it with passion from within and the rest will fall into place."

    Health students told they can 'make a difference'

    Claflin University celebrated national Make A Difference Day on Oct. 20 with more than 300 students from the Orangeburg Consolidated School District 5 High School of Health Professions. The students heard from a panel of local health care providers, with panelists discussing issues and the myriad of career opportunities in the health care industry.

  • Molina Healthcare announced the kick-off of its second annual Molina HOPE coat drive in Michigan to help children and adults in need. During the nine-week drive, which began Monday, Molina and its partners will collect new coats at numerous drop-off sites across the state, with the goal of collecting 7,000 child and adult-sized coats prior to the conclusion of the drive on Monday, Nov. 27.

Gathered quietly, the young recipients listened attentively as Luis A. Sylvester, executive account manager of Molina Medicaid Solutions, made his presentation.

    A big baby shower is helping out about 100 new and expectant moms in our area. It was free and open to the public. Molina Health Care hosted the event at the Dream Center in North Charleston. It partnered with Bundles of Joy Diaper Bank, Fetter Health Care Network and multiple local organizations for the event.
