We recently welcomed a full-service fertility practice, NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York, to our growing outpatient network, with three convenient locations on Long Island and one in Brooklyn Heights.
According to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, approximately 65% of women over the age of 40 struggle with fertility problems. Yet, more people are waiting to have kids until they are older. In combination with a growing awareness of options such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) and egg freezing, fertility services have become an integral part of reproductive health for many women.

For Elaine Meyerson, NYU Langone Health is more than a job, it’s her passion. Her career began over 40 years ago as a nurse in the surgical ICU department. She then became a clinical nurse specialist, and subsequently held a number of leadership roles in Nursing—recruitment, administration, informatics, to name a few. “I was given many opportunities to grow professionally. That’s part of the reason why I love being here,” said Elaine.
When asked why she loves coming to work every day, Elaine’s answer was simple, “To help people and to make a difference. Sometimes it’s the art of being a nurse that really stands out—listening to our patients, comforting them, and being present at a vulnerable moment in their lives.” Join us in congratulating Elaine for her achievements and commitment to NYU Langone Health! Employees across NYU Langone Health had a great time at the inaugural Innovation Pitch Showcase! Our system-wide innovation and collaboration challenge allowed staff to pitch ideas to members of the senior leadership team that can add value for patients and staff across the health system. The three finalists were all so strong, they will all be given support to put their ideas into action.
“Everyone’s a winner,” said Dr. Robert I. Grossman, dean and CEO. “We want to give all of these teams the resources to move their projects forward.”
Congratulations to all of our winners who contributed groundbreaking ideas, and thank you to our employees for supporting the innovation pitch challenge. We are proud to have a team of forward-thinking staff committed to providing a world class experience for our patients and employees. Start your week off on a healthy note by joining NYU Langone Health faculty, staff and leaders for the “Monday Mile,” our latest initiative that encourages community members to adopt healthy habits. The weekly Monday walks through our main Manhattan campus, including Tisch Hospital and the Kimmel Pavilion, serve as a great opportunity to get moving and clear your mind.
“In order to work in healthcare and take care of patients and their families, you have to take care of yourself first,” said Janet Kraus, MSN, RNC, senior director of Accreditation and Standards. “We want to encourage staff to get out and walk. It doesn’t take much, it’s free. You can do it indoors, during your workday. It doesn’t matter if it’s 90 degrees or 30 outside!”
