NAB receives Sustainability Certificate for data centers that are 100% green. At North American Bancard, we’re fully committed to the sustainability of our planet. Through our partnership with Switch, the recognized world leader in sustainable data center design, development, and mission-critical operations, we are helping to reduce carbon dioxide emissions while preserving our planet’s precious water supply. In fact, NAB was awarded a Switch Sustainability Certificate for using 100% renewable energy within the Switch ecosystem, allowing them to retire 289 Renewable Energy Credits on our behalf for the year 2020. North American Bancard was nominated for and won a 2020 Best of MichBusiness award for stepping up to make a difference this year. Not only did NAB’s ability to pivot quickly in the face of COVID-19 make a difference, but we also revamped our internal communications strategy, implemented mandatory flexibility conversations between leaders & team members, and continued to celebrate small wins through virtual moments of magic recognition. As a company that is experience focused and action oriented, we are honored to have received this award. The Best of MichBusiness Awards celebrates programs and companies that make Michigan a great place to live and work. This year’s awards program honored companies that made a difference in 2020 and showed outstanding leadership in a time of a crisis and social and economic uncertainty.
NAB’s Pledge in Supporting Time to Vote At North American Bancard, we wanted to do our part in making sure every team member was able to have their voice heard in the 2020 election. Just a few of the offerings to team members this year included making November 3rd a “meeting free” day to allow flexibility, providing all team members with 2 hours of PTO to cast their vote, and offering resources to help team members register and/or safely cast their vote. Thanks to a team member’s suggestion, we even adjusted our volunteer time off policy to allow and encourage team members to repurpose unused volunteer time to support nonpartisan voter engagement efforts. The events of this year have challenged our leadership team to take a more active role in the most pressing issues affecting our team members, merchants, and society at large. By educating ourselves on the matters causing concern in our communities, speaking out against injustice, and using the influence we have to be agents of positive change, NAB was proud with this year’s pledge to support time to vote.
Celebrating 95% of our Team Working Remote for 6 Months So Far! At the beginning of the pandemic, our executive team knew we had to act quickly to keep our team members safe. Within two weeks, we went from a 10% remote to 95% remote workforce! Our IT team quickly ordered and deployed laptops to anyone who was able to work remotely so that they didn’t have to report to an office. On September 23, we officially hit 6 months of this new remote work structure for our company and were excited to share that productivity and engagement levels remain high!
