#Rosendin's safety teams work hard at all of our locations and job sites nationally to excel in our safety procedures and standards. We are proud to say that our teams' efforts have earned us the ConstructSecure, Inc. Platinum Safety Award this year! This award is presented to companies that register a safety score of 95% or greater in the Safety Assessment Program administered by ConstructSecure. The Safety Assessment Program reviews a company’s historical safety performance and current safety management systems. “Platinum status is not easily achieved. Rosendin has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to implementing safety management systems resulting in exceptionally low incident rates” says Garrett Burke, CEO of ConstructSecure. #LeadInspireBuild #safety #safetyculture #awardwinning #constructionindustry

May is #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, a time to raise awareness of those living with mental or behavioral health issues and help reduce the stigma. Taking the time to talk about mental health and provide education and help may even save a life. According to the Centers for Disease Prevention, construction occupations have the highest rate of suicide and the highest number of suicides across all occupational groups. At #Rosendin, our responsibility as a leader in the industry is to address mental health as a safety priority. We do this by creating safe cultures, raising awareness about the suicide crisis in construction, normalizing conversations surrounding suicide and mental health, and ultimately decreasing the risks associated with suicide and mental health crises in our industry. Take the first step to STAND up for suicide prevention at Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention's information page: https://lnkd.in/gPFA3wx #BuildingPeople #MentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness #SuicidePrevention #ConstructionIndustry #STANDupforSuicidePrevention

With a budget of $284 million, the Automated People Mover (APM) at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will sit on 2.25 miles of track and connect different terminals and car rental areas, including a link to the LA metro system. Each train will hold four cars, and a trainload could carry up to 200 people and their luggage. The APM will operate on an above-ground track that’s entirely powered by electricity, 98% recyclable, and generates a portion of its power through regenerative braking. The facility generates power from solar energy and is designed to be LEED Gold Certified. Trains will reach top speeds of 47mph, and end-to-end travel won’t take longer than 10 minutes. It will run every two minutes, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and will be free for all users.
Chris Goodgion, SMS, Regional Safety Director at Rosendin and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, believes that the values he learned in the service are significant to his career today. "In the military, you are expected to always be loyal to your country and family. At Rosendin, the employees are my family! Without our employees in the field, we would not be as successful as we are today. It's important for us all, from the top down, to be loyal and faithful to each and every employee, which is one of our core values, 'We Care'. In combat, the phrase "follow me" means 'I am not asking you to do anything I wouldn't do'. It is meant to give confidence in your leadership, and veterans at Rosendin have the same confidence."
A group of military veterans and other workers from the SanJose-based electrical contracting company Rosendin will upgrade the USS Hornet Sea, Air and Space Museum this month to increase technology access aboard the ship. The group of 10 employees, including three veterans, are working pro-bono to install Wi-Fi, upgrade the ship’s computer network, improve its cybersecurity network, support digital media exhibits and add wireless access points. Rosendin is funding the $20,000 project through donations and volunteer work. “We first heard about their needs last year, and the team was so excited we started collecting donated equipment and set up a PlanGridproject, which is like a digital blueprint, to map out the challenges of wiring the ship,” said Matt Lamb, Rosendin’s chief information officer. The USS Hornet aircraft carrier was completed in 1943 and served in various capacities in World War II’s Pacific Theater, the Korean War and the Vietnam War before being decommissioned in 1970.
