  • Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) Hospital and Clinics Achieve HIMSS Stage 7 for both acute and ambulatory care! SCVMC is the first County healthcare system in California and the 2nd largest County owned hospital in the US to achieve this level of recognition.

    HIMSS Stage 7 is a healthcare industry award recognized nationwide for excellence in adoption and utilization of EMRs. By achieving HIMSS Stage 7, SCVMC validates our healthcare delivery meets the highest standard of quality nationwide for use of an EMR to drive and improve patient safety and outcomes. HIMSS Stage 7 is the highest level of achievement in the HIMSS EMR adoption model. Only 5% of nationwide healthcare organizations have achieved HIMSS Stage 7 Acute Care validation and only 10% have achieved HIMSS Stage 7 Ambulatory validation. This award is a way of showcasing the excellent work at SCVMC and our commitment to providing the highest quality care to our patients.

    March 29, 2017 Nationwide, only 300 healthcare providers earned the "Leader in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality" designation Santa Clara County, CA - With a record 590 healthcare facilities participating in the 2017 Healthcare Equity Index (HEI) survey, Santa Clara Valley Medical Center earned a "Leader in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality" designation.
