Meet Jörg Körtgen our Sales Manager (Germany and Austria) for Terex Tower Cranes. Alongside his demanding ‘day’ job, he dedicates countless hours to his community, acting as Mayor of Bürvenich and Eppenich since 2009, and a member of Zülpich city council since 2014. Jörg is also Head of the Zülpich voluntary fire brigade, responsible for coordinating approximately 500 firefighters across 15 firefighting groups with 32 vehicles that are stationed in 16 locations, to support an area of 100 km2. It is in this role that saw Jörg heavily involved in the emergency response to the German floods in July 2021. The team’s early provision of an alarm / rescue Fire Brigade Team and prioritisation of the operations helped avoid high casualties. The Zülpich region are indebted to the efforts of their volunteer firefighters, evident by the countless thank you letters and conversations. Jörg’s heroic acts of Citizenship and this motto on the way he lives his life is truly remarkable and inspiring – a massive well done and thank you Jörg for your tireless social commitment from all of us at Terex
