Employee Development at The Conference Board Means Support Throughout the Course of Your Career “I love my job,” says Michelle LaMarche Smith, a senior director at The Conference Board. Michelle started out in sales with a territory, and has built her career over time, taking advantage of training resources for professional development offered by The Conference Board. “Our senior leaders are very aware that you need to reskill all the time,” says Michelle. Leaders provided ongoing training at different levels throughout the course of her career. Michelle also made full use of external resources like classes from the American Management Association, offered free to employees. “We’re a small organization, but we’re international: we have different research centers; it can be a lot to take in” when you’re a new hire, says Michelle. But “The Conference Board is really good at internal training.”
