YesCare, a leader in MAT services within correctional settings, partnered with Louisville Metro Corrections, Louisville Metro Dept. of Public Health & Wellness, Kentucky Harm Reduction Coalition, Vital Strategies, Indivior, and Braeburn to raise awareness among staff and the community. Hundreds of Narcan and Harm Reduction kits were distributed, making a meaningful impact on harm reduction efforts.
American Correctional Association Conference YesCare hosted a very popular booth at the recent American Correctional Association conference in Nashville. Over 15 YesCare employees were in attendance to help support the booth and give out over 2000 giveaways to the 4000+ conference attendees. A team of nurses were set up in the Mobile Clinic to provide hydration IVs to attendees. One client said “You guys are the best booth here. Thank you for all you do to make the conference more fun. I always look for the YesCare booth at every ACA conference.”

Dr. Newell-Harris Recognized for Distinguished Leadership Dr. Glenda Newell-Harris, Corizon Health’s Western Region Medical Director, has been recognized as a distinguished leader by Miss Porter’s School, a prestigious New England boarding school. The school will name its new student center, opening early 2022, as the Dr. Glenda Newell-Harris Student Center.
Developing a monthly process to administer COVID-19 vaccines, the Brevard County Jail, Corizon Health, and Brevard Health Alliance are working hard to vaccinate the jail population. Brevard Health Alliance is providing the Johnson and Johnson vaccines and working with the Corizon team to administer shots. Kudos to Corizon’s Director of Nursing Katie Wilder for spearheading this effort!
CORIZON PARTNER AT RIVERSIDE REGIONAL JAIL AUTHORITY EARNS NCCHC REACCREDITATION Accreditation from the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) recognizes the jail’s dedication to compliance with the most respected standards in correctional health care. “It is such a pleasure to work with a team with such great perseverance,” said Senior Vice President of Community Operations Karen Davies. “This team has solved some complex situations and has met each challenge head on. We thank our Riverside Regional Jail team for their continued dedication and support.”
Corizon partner, Essex County Juvenile Detention Center (ECJDC) in Newark, NJ, earned re-accreditation from the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC). The ECJDC was originally accredited in 2004, with Corizon as their partner, and has maintained its commitment to meeting the requirements described in NCCHC's standards for 17 years!
As the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation is evolving, the Corizon clinical and operational leadership teams are actively monitoring the flow of information from public health sources and assuring that our sites are prepared in the event of an outbreak at a site or within their communities. We have provided all site teams with the necessary information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) regarding screening, isolation, and communication protocols in the event of confirmed cases. We remain in constant communication with all site teams regarding this issue and will continue our updates as CDC and health department information evolves. Our priority is to keep our team members safe and healthy so that they can continue to provide quality service to those entrusted to our care, and to help our client partners be fully prepared. Looking ahead, we will continue to monitor the situation and prepare to make any adjustments necessary to address any changes in the situation at our local sites or as recommended by government health authorities.
